I agree with the Peak Performance Boyancy, that is a good one. But I think I might add Underwater Naturalist and Night dive. (Ok that is what we DID do....) I mean every dive is drift and every dive is off a boat. You are going to get 'trained' in that for free, more or less. Naturalist teaches you some stuff about what you are looking at and Night dive gets you out on, well, a night dive. For us AOW was peanuts on top of the price of the dives anyway, so why not take it. JLyle nailed that one.

I see what you mean cvcheif. I was thinking more on the lines of not adding to many new skills to add into a first time Cozumel diver, but more of merely reviewing and tweeking skills that a brand new Drift/Boat diver will use, and consequently having a buddy/instructor for a solo diver. If I remember correctly, I added, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Fish ID and Enriched Air, however, I had 50 + Cozumel dives at the point of my AOW and Drift/Boat were pretty well covered by that time. As far as the Night dive suggestion, you are right on there, it gets you out on a Night dive..with a one-on-one buddy/instructor, and also important, the skills learned are valuable. Regardless of what courses, jlyle's suggestion is on target.

I miss the large title. :sad: But a lot of that varies with Browser settings. My Firefox shows Size 1 as larger than default, but my Chrome doesn't. A little bigger and bolder might be nice...?

John and I will be arriving August 23 - 27. Hoping to dive August 24 and Maybe August 26 since our flight out isn't until 2pm. Haven't chosen a dive shop yet... Overwhelmed by the choices so far. Not sure John will join me yet... Still trying to talk him into finishing his open water dives after a few bad pool sessions and one open water dive in Nassau. We are staying at the El Cozumeleno Resort.
