Yes, there is nothing that would be damaged by it.

CPR First Aid and O2 provider

It sounds like you already have the CPR and First Aid requirement. The oxygen provider class is separate from Rescue, though part of the course covers oxygen administration. There isn't a requirement to have O2 before taking Rescue, only CPR and First aid and they can be any valid course.

    Zip Seals & Viking Rings?

One thing I noticed when I rented a DUI with zipseals, was that my sitech rings sat really far down my hand because the zipseals took up space on my wrist. I had to pull the sleeves up a few inches for everything to fit right and let me use my hands. I'm not sure if this is common or not as I...

    Drysuit gear

As long as everything fits and is in good working order, go with the used one.

    Wetsuit for Caye Caulker belize.

I wore a full 3mm in December and was fine. I think the DM's were mostly wearing 3mm shorty's. Unless you are doing a lot of dives in a day, a 3mm shorty will probably be ok.

    roller bag with backpack straps?

REI has a few options listed on their website, but most of them seem to be carry on sized, so they might be to small. If I was to buy another bag I would probably buy one of these MEC Fast-Track Rolling Duffle - Mountain Equipment Co-op. Free Shipping Available. I don't know if the shipping...

    Travel BCD

I believe the Zeagle Scout is a pretty popular travel BC as well, and Zeagle has a good reputation. Scout - Recreational BCs - BCs - Zeagle Dive Systems

what's your UW housing gear-up routine?

I don't store my housing with the oring in, I take it out and store it in a ziploc with the housing, because I've heard that leaving it in the case with the case sealed can cause the oring to deform over time. I've found that it doesn't take that long to prepare the oring and seal the camera...

    roller bag with backpack straps?

It depends on the quality of the bag more than anything else. I have a fairly cheap rolling duffel with backpack straps, however the straps are really thin and hurt my shoulders when I carry a full bag of gear. I still like the versatility the bag gives, and will get a better quality one when...

    To check or to carry-on...

I will carry regs and my camera with me, although thats more so they don't get damaged then lost or stolen. I don't really like dealing with carry on if possible, especially ones packed to the limit, and so far, I've had a good track record with not losing any bags. If you are concerned about...

Good night shore dives in the Tacoma area?

Tacoma Scuba does shop dives twice a week at Les Davis. They sometimes turn into night dives if people are running late, and Les Davis can be pretty neat at night.

How soon can I dive after my bout with swimmers ear?

I think I was told to wait a week after being symptom free before getting it wet again. It was also reccomended that I try these "Pro Ear 2000" Two Window Mask Black from LeisurePro.com however I was almost better so didn't bother.

    Purpose of an SMB?

Its deployed so the boat knows where you are while you do your safety/deco stops. It also keeps other boats aware of where you are, and provides you a reference for depth. If you are hanging on an anchor chain its probably not really necessary, however can be good if you get lost or have to...

    Dry Mouth

I have the Maximus from Sherwood and also don't get a really dry mouth sometimes. My understanding is that there are fins in the second stage that cause the moisture you breath out to condense in the reg instead of being breathed out. This condensation then moisturizes the incoming air helping...

    Hard weight question.

You can try to put a half twist in the belt when you thread it through the weights. Thread through one slot, twist, then thread through the other. You can also get weight keepers to keep everything in place. I think your idea would work to keep them in place, just be careful drilling the...

    Personal storage while diving

I store everything inside my car trunk (locked) and take the key with me clipped to my BCD with a locking carabiner. I don't have a chip key or anything so its not a problem.

    Tropic Air?

They are pretty good. We had some pretty big bags and they squeezed them all in the plane somehow. I have no problems with any of my experiences. If you are staying at the Seabreeze its right across the street from the airstrip which is great.

    Some mini-lessons learned.

Great advice especially the checklist part. I also try to dress my self from head to toe mentally but usually forget things like warm socks or towels when I do that.

Would you dive with no knife

Hide the knife in a pocket if you want to bring it. I doubt they will search you for a knife before diving and the ban is usually to prevent people from cutting off chunks of coral from the reef.
