New here, but approaching 100th, and it's almost my bday... should I go in my bday gear?!

With that said, thermal protection is above everything.

Ding, ding, ding winner winner chicken dinner.

Not to mention parasites and very small sea life.

Some pretty uptight folks here, you should see what happens if you post a for sale post without a serial number…..

You mean posting a high demand computer with a vague how someone got it and refusal to publicly post anything further, just vague its legit and ok. This following a rash of stolen accounts here of very well know members with for sale stuff which was not legit. Plus a recent rash of stolen Shearwater computers as @Marie13 alluded to.

Everything about that thread was highly suspicious to anyone much less anyone who has ever worked in the CJ system.

I think my point has been reaffirmed.

Those parasites and not so small sea life can get you when wearing board shorts and that appears to be socially accepted.

I saw a remora go up a guy's shorts once. I almost drowned laughing .... He handled it, nothing got chewed-up. I know this guy well. Didn't stop him from wearing shorts again when temps are appropriate.

The OP is excited about his 100th dive, something about doing it in his birthday suit talks to him. Well good for him!

He won't be the first one doing it and definitely not the last one either.... Maybe in colder climates is not a thing... But why not in warmer waters?

One if the reasons you should always wear some form of wetsuit or drysuit.

But hey if people want to be stupid let them be stupid. After all they have to deal with whatever happens from there stupidity.

Is it really that big of a deal?

I do like to go on my back porch, usually after having a few beers or such, and shoot guns nekkid while yelling Ya-Hoo!

Seriously, people need to get over the human body.

I am usually so wrapped up in what I am doing I would not even notice and if I did I would not care. Well, if you have on a rainbow colored tutu and everybody on the boat has one including the DM and captain, I might take notice! Such was the case on a boat in Bonaire. I would have considered joining them but they had no spare tutus, it would have made for some great pics. Black is just so boring .

I regularly dive in a rash guard and board shorts, I hate wet suits and I run hot! Hell, i did a cenote, 76f, in a 1.5 mil rash guard and shorts and was comfortable on a 45 min dive! If I was really concerned about temps and parasites, it would already be an issue the way I dive! 84 dives, wet suit on only maybe 10-15 of them!

I appreciate the few that are supportive... would still like some suggestions on where to do it (thinking somewhere in the Caribbean) if anyone knows a good place!

Personally I don't care. However, if I'm on a dive boat with my daughter when she's 12 and some guy wants to dive naked on his 100th dive that day, it isn't going to happen.
