cvchief- I walked by Jacinta the last two evenings and it was locked and dark. Maybe they are closed for the slow season like Prime 5. There are no signs i/f/o the restaurant explaining the situation.

I was afraid of that. Their facebook page says closed permanently and they didn't respond to a message. Shame. I thought it was ok when it opened, but last couple times were REALLY good. Guess we should have tried to go more.

This may have been mentioned before but it's a toss up between Los Otates and El Pique. If you're brave, I would ask for the roasted Habaneros from Los Otates. Just don't have them right before a dive though!

If we're counting taquerias as "restaurants," then hell yeah to El Pique. We love their charro beans.

If I can stuff my face there then it's a restaurant in my eyes. My only gripe with El Pique is it's a bit of a walk from town. I usually stay in the center of town. But holy hell, their Gringas pastor with pineapple-that entree will make anyone weak in the knees.

Bicycle. Taxi. On our last trip, we finally figured out a meal strategy that suits us: We eat our main meal of the day as a late lunch after returning from our dives, then go out in the evening just for a few quick tacos.

Another excellent restaurant is La Perlita. I'm not sure what the address is but I think it's a cab ride from town. If you hunt lionfish, they're one of the restaurants on the island that will cook them up for you. I usually will cut the spines off myself before handing them to the the cooking staff though.

Lol, that's the beauty of Coz...something for everybody. Los Otates is on the backside of the block where we stay. We grab a quick gringas/pozole for lunch after diving then set out in the evening on the restaurant crawl. I think you have the right of it from the local's point of view, but we're stubborn tourists. :dork2: Actually all of our meals qualify as "snacks." My God, if we ordered a meal apiece each time we sat down, there wouldn't be enough lead on the boat to sink our fat a$$es, though you may have an answer to that with the bikes. :) I do enjoy Coz...headed back next weekend. @uncfnp , I'll say hi to Millie. :bounce::bounce::bounce:

Please give Millie a double smooch from me. Our next trip to Coz is February and Magda was booked up for our dates. :( Good for her but bad for us.
