My wife and I would love to go and dive AGAIN at the Blue Hole, but even in March, it could still and most likely be very cold outside. I just can't see jumping in our car with a wetsuit on just to keep warm.

Where do you plan to stay warm? As we all know that the new dive center will not be complete by then.

Hey, have you guys thought of going to The Crater instead? Much much warmer, that's for sure! I think when I was there, water temp was near 90. It's small, but ok. Then again, I saw airfare to Cozumel R/T for $219 day before yesterday!
RonFrank, I'm in Conifer also. Nice weather, huh? :)

I started the thread not to debate WHERE to go, just when! :D

Feel free to start threads on other trips, but let's keep this in the vein of I'm going to BH in March, so when are others that may be interested in going able to go?

It is impossible to know what the weather will be like then, but by march it maybe in the 60's down there, ... or not.

I dive dry, but I feel your pain in a wetsuit. My neckseal ripped last time I was there after the first dive, and with an ill fitting wetsuit. I could not do much more than one dive a day, I was just too cold.

If the weather is bad, we head to the hotel. Kevin can bring tarps to wrap the covered area's and a heater. Newbies dive this wet in winter often, and with a good 7mm wetsuit it's fine in the water, just cold out of the water. Honestly a 7mm is not bad IF it fits well, but I prefer dry....

okay, I'm in...and I have wetsuit. (Well, I'm in if it fits in my schedule). After that drive down in January to meet divedoggie (Kent) I can endure most of anything. Last friday of March is my B-day and a great time to take work off and go dive. :) Open right now for any weekend in March, I'll keep checking back.

I don't think I can make it in March. Justin and I just got back from Bonaire, and I'm headed back there 20 - 29 March. :mooner:
This time I'll be going with a dive club that I've gone there with 3 times before. And, I just got notification from Yapta.com that Continental Airlines is offering tickets for just over $500 r/t! :shocked2:
Justin and I paid $850 and we though we got a fair deal (normal price is over $1000) and I bought my ticket for March just before we left 2 weeks ago at $680, thinking that was a great deal! If anyone is interested in this trip, there are still openings. Send me a PM and I'll get you the details. :coffee:

we will be there march 28-29th as the calendar sits right now - hubby is teaching OW classroom pool the weekend before. Of course, this could all change...
We usually stay warm by taking off the wetsuits between dives and jumping into the cars. But sometimes a friend of ours comes over with his large tent and heater. :D I am hoping to talk to him and see if he is available. I have been there in March when it is sunny and 70, and when it was cold and snowy. There is just no way to predict weather in NM. :cool2:

I'd love to come out. It will depend on the weekend that is chosen though. It looks like I'm working the first and third weekend, unless my schedule changes to a monday - friday gig before then. :)

I'll be ready for some more BH diving by March. Unless there is a storm, it should be getting pretty warm by then. Even in early January :)cold:eek:ther than a hideous drive down) the weather was quite pleasant. Sunny and close to 60.:crafty:

A note on Homestead Crater: Yes its warm and cozy, but since they charge about $30/dive, it wouldn't be an ideal RMO get-together place!:dollar:

A note on Bonaire: The deals are looking great! Now if only I had time and freedom!:hm:

Back to BH: Ron, I'm too lazy to post the pix!:lotsalove:
