We missed you. Where's the trip report?

A true DIMWIT posts in his own time and not due to any peer pressure or outside forces.

So Tex, where's that dive report? And another thing, don't come in here all high and mighty about banishment from their forum. Puttin' on airs an' all. I DO declare!

Well aren’t you folks full of southern hospitality!

Its funny reading this stuff because of how off base you guys are concerning Sherman. Sherm is a NAUI Trimix instructor first and for most. Unlike a lot of you fine people he is open enough to steal what makes sense regardless of what acronym it comes from.

Sherm has been through one GUE course, DIR-f and he has done a lot of deco dives with Tech1/Cave2 trained divers. Imagine that, GUE trained tech divers diving with non-GUE trained tech divers. Rule #1 is "don’t dive with unsafe divers", not "don’t dive with non-GUE trained divers". He is open minded enough to see the advantage of unified team diving so he feels no constraints in passing that concept on to his NAUI trained students.

Sherman is a great person and instructor. He most defiantly doesn’t fit the internet interpretation of some elite DIR diver that you guys seem gung-ho on perpetuating.

I on the other hand probably do fit that model so please feel free to flame me all you want. I am an a$$ so rail on me if it gets you off. Oh and Texas sucks!

Sorry to hear that you think Texas Sucks. I think I am pretty blessed to live in the state, but I am not originally from Texas. In Austin we have a Mecca of good lakes, clear water springs, and good ole brown holes to blow bubbles in. Rugged and Fun.

I don't see a rift if one exists. But maybe that's cause I have selective eyes and see "the world according to Shawn"

I would dive with you within my training and certification ratings, and feel confident as I always am to take care of you and me. I like to plan a dive, preference dive profile before suiting up and I believe you dive your plan. But that's just me and I am in Texas. I run conservative RGBM model for any repetitive diving.

Come on down and check out some of the best local diving in Texas around Austin anytime and look me up. I don't think I know Sherman so can't speak to any of that.

Regards,

Shawn O'Shea

Ha! You crack me up. You have your AOW and Fundies and you think you are God's gift to diving. Just over 100 dives and you know it all, baby. You're the perfect DIR horse's behind. You, JeffG and Rainier should get together for a little lovefest. I'm sure you can stroke each other's ego until you squeal with joy!!! :lotsalove:

Find out for yourself what DIR is all about and stop relying on hearsay and SB for your POV and I think you'll lose the chip on your shoulder or at least won't come across as being so ignorant on the topic. I wanted to know more and took training. I know what I'm speaking of first hand, do you? You speak as though you think you do, but stating that training encourages this rift is just not true.

Funny to me that you would call me out on attitude while using phrases like "the likes of you" .

Sorry...not interested in being like you 24940. Go back to your sad little existence, hang our with your DIR pals and be whatever it is you want to be. Just don't step into my space with your bad attitude.

BTW, I see in your profile that you are just an OWI...no Fundies...no tech certs...looks like you don't have a clue about what you're talking about. Typical...

Good! Give in to your hatred, release your anger!

... one of these days I'll get around to updating my profile.

On a totally unrelated note how are the mountain biking trails in Texas? Ive only been to Dallas which was flat as glass. Is there good technical single track in your neck of the woods?

A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

Next time someone wants to use the word NAZI do a search(google) before you post,if you still think you want to post this.We do have a ToS in place, and we will act upon this.
Clearly your definition as a European is different from mine. Understandable, but not a reason to come down on a different use of the term.

I think you should keep your profiles as up-to-date as possible,,,very easy to do....least you do have something filled in....so many member leave theirs blank as if hiding something or they just don't know its there available.

Texas has some great trails 'I understand'...my USCF road racing cycling days are over....never saw the need to ride in the woods.

Please...if you've read the threads and comprehended them then you know I don't have a problem with DIR divers. I just have a problem with anyone with a bad attitude who thinks their way is the only way. There's more than one way to do most anything...diving is no different. If you want to set up you gear one way no problem. Just don't give someone else grief 'cause they set up their differently.

Yes, Dallas is pretty flat...no offense to my North Texas buddies. The mtn. bike trails in the Hill Country can be much more technical depending on the area and the route.
