They mentioned something about boarding up the windows...

The Koolaid water balloons are being filled up as we speek!

d*** the rain, I am in a frolicking mood!

Is there no way we could setup a tent or something?

Dude! It's only rain!

I'll try to scope out a place that sits under the cantilevered portion of the casino and put the banner up there.

I look forward to seeing you both this weekend.

Be sure to post in the thread about dinner on Friday and Saturday night if you are going to join us!

I'll be making reservations for Armstrongs on Friday night and Ristorante Villa Portofino on Saturday night based on the numbers in the replies in that thread.

Thanks.

I've warned both dive shops (and the Sheriff) that the wild and wacky divers of SB will be descending on the town this weekend.
Aw heck! I'm good friends with Sheriffs all across the country, I must be since they are kind enough to keep my picture on the wall!:D

Not to discourage anyone, but the small craft warnings are already up here. Locals who went to the Catalina Express ticket office today to get boat tickets for tomorrow were told to wait until morning. The Express is suggesting the boats may not run tomorrow.

Maybe this will burn itself out early and be fine on Saturday. I've seen it happen a number of times. I've been diving the park in sunshine while it was pouring rain on the mainland.

WHAT TIME do people want to get together up at my house before dinner. I'll be there to give directions, but in case here is a link to a map to my house. All you have to do is follow Metropole uphill, keep going past the Pepto Bismol hotel (Hotel St. Lauren) until you get to the very top of Upper Metrople and turn right. My condo is in the large four story stucco building that is the only one on that street after the corner!

I spoke to Catalina Express tonight and they told me they just don't know about tomorrow and won't until tomorrow. It's certainly worth calling in the morning but I'm hoping for the best!

I'm planning to be there and hope to see the rest of you Friday, Saturday or Sunday!

As Tech Admin says, there has been no definite decision to not run the boats and won't be until they see if conditions are still bad early in the AM. It is howling out here right now. However it could be flat calm in the morning. If you are driving a fair distance to get to the boats, call to make sure before you leave.

Of course after the last two days in LA, you should probably also call the CHP to see if any of the freeways are closed!

Morning! (or still night?) Afew of us are going down to Long Beach to catch the 6:15am. They won't be open until about 5:30am, so, I have to drive down there anyway. If they go, I will be on the boat, if not, I guess I will be waiting it out until they do go. This is really testing my theory on don't listen to the weather and tide reports, drive, look, and decide to dive or not:D

See everyone on the island!:14:

I just called Cat Express and they said the 6:15am boat was cancelled. They are not sure about the rest of the day. I will call back later today to see how the rest of the boats look.

Sorry, Rick that you had to drive down so early.
