I figure that with this weather, nobody will need reservations for nothin' on Catalina this weekend, so I'm just gonna play it by ear tonight and tomorrow and see what happens.

Okay, I've decided to roll the dice and head out tomorrow morning for the 6:15am boat out of Long Beach provided it's not raining when I'm ready to leave. Depending on how things go, I could end up taking a later boat or end up trying again on Sunday. Either way, I'm really hoping to get wet... underwater, not by rain. I'll quickly check the board before I leave tomorrow. Anyone planning to catch the early boat out of LB tomorrow morning?

Well, those who made it already (about 20) have had a good time. Several dove today. We gathered for dinner at Armstrong's at 7:30 and had a great time... filled one whole section of the restaurant. Lots of laughter, lots of good camraderie.

Some will try diving the Valiant at 7:00 tomorrow. As for me, I'm more civilized. I will have my coffee and Internet before I head down to dive about 8:30.

Look forward to some of you joining us if it isn't raining cats and dogs ("just a little rain, falling all around...").

Hey, Christian and everyone, I hope you are getting some diving in, even in this terrible weather (it' s disgusting here in San Diego).
Dr Bill, I have just picked up my copy of Diver magazine (a Brit publication - I recommend it) and it has a nice article on shark diving off Catalina. The team was diving with Scuba Luv and they mention spending their offgassing (ie: drinking) time in "..an earthy sports bar full of baseball-loving locals.." I wonder if one of 'em was you?

cheers,
Peter

I was here when they did the diving but decided not to go out on the boat with them. I figured the odds of seeing many sharks was low.

I know the bar. Not one I frequent (they don't talk diving there and, besides... I'm diving the next day!).

I think there are still a few die-hards at the park. I came up early after doing just one dive so I could pick up the house for the crew when they come up 40 minutes from now.

Had a great time over in Catalina, you guys are kewl!!!!!!!!! Lisa enjoyed her dive, and all went well. Thanks Ted for diving with us.

Now that I know what ShakaZulu really looks like, I'll never trust another avatar in my life!

The last of the hearty souls departed Casino Point about two hours ago. An interesting weekend was had by all... a few mysteries to be solved if the SB members recover sufficiently to do so. Next time the Wrinkles gang comes out to Catalina, the LA Sheriffs will be waiting at the dock to escort them (where to I'll never tell, nor will they).

A fun weekend.

Y'know, I noticed there was a report of an earthquake in Avalon this morning around 5am. I wonder.... :D

had a great time even tho i didnt get to dive sat or sun. oh well, dinner last night made up for it.

Hey that was great! World famous salsa dancer and squid researcher Naoko and I are back safe and sound in sunny, Florida. It was 80 degrees when we got off the plane, and tears of joy welled up in ole Scubakev's eyes. Thanks everyone for a great time diving out there, especially to Ted who took the time to show us around the park. We saw some cool critters including a Horned Shark, and some great big hairy lobsters. Naoko is right here, and says " ScubaBoard is awsesome, I had so much fun!":fruit: I'm sitting right here too, I had fun as well. It was great to meet so many of you guys from out yonder. I'll be back before too long, I think. Thanks again! I'll put up some underwater pics when they come back from the lab, but for now, here's some topside ones from World famous salsa dancer and squid researcher, Naoko.
