I received my order of Bungee from Reef Scuba Accessories, Inc. I just wanted to mention what great prices and service I got from them.

I even had a few surprises in my box when I opened it. I got some free items (1.5" SS Split Ring, 10-pack of tank O-rings, and a wrist lanyard). Nice touch! They have earned my repeat business.

I am not affiliated with them in any way. I just like spreading the word to fellow divers when I experience great service. YMMV

They are great people. I bought my reel from them last year and it came with a "Property of" lable attached with my name on it, and some extras included in the box too. They've earned my endorcement.

I don't recommend the surgical tubing. You can order pre-made bungee necklaces from www.extreme-exposure.com or www.lloydbaileysscuba.com

Why should you pay $10 to buy someone else's when you can
buy tubing for 30 cents a foot? Take some, cross the ends enough for your 2nd stage's mouthpiece and put a cable tie on
each end. Takes less than a minute.

Walgreens has it as does any surgical supply house...

Cost was more like $4.99, and I don't really like surgical tubing, nor do I like using zipties where I can easily avoid it.

Plus, surgical tubing used as you describe has a tendency to pull off the regulator. You'd need to ziptie it into place, too.

YMMV.

Hmm, I've never had a problem with it. I just make it tight enough that falling out is out of the question...

After reading your reaction to Reef Scuba, I'm going to have a look and see what I could need from them, that sort of service is rare and special. Worth trying.

i use 1/8 bungee and thread it through surgical tubing. that way i have the durability of the bungee and the softer feel of the surgical tubing on my neck. just a thought.

Based on what I read on this board I decided that Reef scuba was the type of company I want to do business with.

I am usually a big proponent of using my LDS (especially if I buy in next month) but there are just some things you have to outsource.

Where can i buy some bungee or surgical tubing? So far i have checked walmart and rite aid with no luck.I dont have many choices of medical stores here short of going to the hospital and begging for some surgical tubing. Can someone tell me where you purchased yours.I would hate to resort to getting hurt just so i can get some tubing. Thanks!!

Black 1/8" bungee in 24" lengths, with an orange ball about an inch in diameter. Discard the ball, or use it for a slider on a line rig.

Look for "Tarp Canopy Ties." Comes in a bottle of 10, for under $10.

One bottle will outfit several regs and have enough left over for a lifetime of harness bungees.

Do you burn the ends of the bungie?

How do you keep it from unraveling....
