Ah, ok. I didn't realise the cover came off

It seems EE have a minimum international shipping cost of USD102 :( Makes the $20 slug protector a teeny bit expensive

if halcyon makes it give them a call. pretty sure there is a halcyon dealer in china

Ah yeah... right here in Shanghai apparently: ????

I'll need to get one of my staff to translate their website though!

Silly question about the Scout HP LEDs - what type and size of battery, alkaline Cs? Didn't come with a manual

pretty sure those take C cells. give corey a call at halcyon and he'll have all your answers :)

I live 5 minutes from EE. If you need something shipped I'll help you out. Just call EE, pay for it, have me pick it up and I'll mail it. Just paypal me for shipping $. Just give Doug or Andrew my name when you order it and let me know. I have to go by the post office sometime this week anyways.

Most generous of you, thanks. I'll do some checking around and PM you

And thanks everyone for your input - I can't wait to post my next deep air thread so you can get back to bashing me and restore the status quo :D

We can't wait either :)

So, I did the course with the Explorer 9/21 - you can read the trip report here

As far as the light goes...

- Definitely happy with the output; bright, white & tight
- After being paranoid about bumping it for the first day or two, pretty happy with the durability so far
- Nice having the can to tuck the 7' hose under
- E/O cord turned out to be a big winner, glad I got it even if it was by accident. Good for packing, preventing accidental turn-on, and in case of getting it caught on something

However...

- As noted earlier the bloody slug/lighthead is huge & quite heavy
- The Goodman handle doesn't fit my hand very well - too wide (would be ok with thick gloves)
- As a result, if I have my palm vertical, the weight of the head/slug tends to drag it down and off my hand, which is annoying - when laying line I wound up clipping it off so it hung pointing down, and tilting it up with a hand if I needed to see ahead of me
- Still not impressed with the focus locking system

But overall, happy with it. Hopefully in the near future they'll bring out a higher output LED head, which should solve all of the above issues. And since I have the E/O cord, I'll be able to swap between them :)

that handle is adjustable. you should be able to make it tighter so it doesn't fall off of your hand
