I don't eat before most dives because. My stomach does not always agree with the boat ride. As far as diving no problem.

Before a dive I'll eat a little fruit (mostly banana's, apples, or oranges), a granola bar, and drink some gatorade and water. Nothing heavy and I don't fill up. During surface intervals I drink water and munch on trail mix and fruit.

Fish_Whisperer:
Well, "off-gassing" brings up a very funny, but honest, question: Scuba-farts. Don't any of you pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about. About an hour after diving, it's like fireworks in your shorts. Heh...

Dude, you are supposed to breathe the gas in your tanks, not swallow it :D

Fish_Whisperer:
It's the "posterior swim bladder." To conserve on air, and to attain perfect buoyancy, I've mastered the art of breathing through my :censored: :14: :D

So, the next logical question is, have you mastered talking through it as well

I so enjoyed diving in Malaysia when I could have rotis for breakfast with hot strong and sweet coffee, and then have pack of rice, fried egg and spicy sauce for lunch.

Back in the UK I discovered that the diving centres offer weak nescafe [it does not deserve to be called coffee], greasy chips and cardboard burgers in white plastic buns. No wonder so many complain of heartburn!

Usually a granola bar, w/ some coffee. Try not to drink too much since i am n a dry suits.

tons o water after though.
