I bought this retractor that locked eveytime you pulled it out. You had to hit a button to get it to retract every single time. It was more work than clipping and unclipping my console plus cost a ton. Horrible idea for a device. At least they let me return it.

I'm coming to regret buying my Dacor Falcon BCD. Being back inflaction, it has no pockets. And, draining water from it is really a pain.

I'm also unhappy with my 18volt cordless drill.

And, I'll never buy another house with the garage opening onto an alley.

Dacor RIG BC. When I began diving I used a hard pack and wing. When I began diving doubles a few years later I thought the RIG would be perfect. The weight of my doubles ripped the back of the BC out. I repaired it with grommets, but a few dives later it ripped again. I've gone full circle and have used a backplate and wing for the past few years now.
My only other regret was spending $1800 for a DUI TLS350 drysuit. After nearly 200 dives in the suit, I remained dry on only about a dozen dives. It went back to DUI twice with no luck. They couldn't find any leaks. I ran my backup light along the inside and found several pinholes. I patched them, sold the suit on Ebay and bought a Diving Concepts suit for $230. Until I recently tore the neck seal, I remained dry on every dive.

Maybe I'm spoiled, but I've only used a jacket a couple of times "just to see", but other than I've used Bp/w even from the first time I hopped into the pool for ow training. What I regret buying was 3 different and equally ridiculously priced "comfort harnesses" when I finally settled for the one piece webbing.
I wont buy the same drysuit again, a whites aquapro, only because of poor motion range in the arm area and I am a little less afraid of cost.

princeton tec shockwave light

its ok but way overprices for what ya get,
for a little more money youi can start getting into canister lights

I regreted getting the Dacor talon jacket-style BC...my fault...i didnt do enough research. And also the darwin console that came along with it as a package...i really hate it...the buttons are so hard to press...

An air gauge with a compass extension in stead of an analog depth gauge to double my mosquitos quirky readings. I like my compass on my arm these days but I could never find a depth gauge to fit the hole where the compass used to be.

Finally succumbed and bought an entirely new one last week

Duh!

Sweet Miranda (and sweet others in this thread) that is such an accurate description. All retractors should be retired and used, only in an emergency mind you, to cut cheese.

Mine unwound once ... never to be reset.

Being politically and environmentally incorrect, but hopefully mindful of my fellow man, I left it dangling off the wreck to serve as a warning to all divers: Thou shalt not dive with pesky retractors.

I bought a shaker/noise maker. All I can say is what the !@#$ was I thinking?

Had a buddy with one of those and not afraid to use it ...

So what buying decisions did other people make that they regretted later?

A bowl of chili for lunch before a long afternoon of diving.
