I log them on paper and since I've got my SW I log in the shearwater Cloud as well. Always calculate my sac as I really find this helpful to calculate gas&runtimes....

in our Club, we still use paper logbooks that our divemaster stamps after each dive.
No complain as I need that to attend next level class. (like 100+ dives before attending 3 star CMAS class).

Later I plan to manually type all the 84+ dives to Subsurface, then use both once I'll get data transfer cable for my Mares Quad, or another dive computer with embedded Blueooth.

Logging dives since beginning helped me to calculate my SAC and decrease weights to minimum with confidence, while changing different BCDs and cylinders.

Shearwater Teric and transmitter to upload directly into subsurface. I try to note funny things during a dive for memory

I haven't been logging dives, only transferring the computer logs. I regret only rarely taking notes of what I experienced each dive - reading the entries from the few times I did always brings back memories and makes me smile

I have logged every one of my 5,056 dives. The first few thousand or more are on paper only. Then another thousand or so on paper and various computer programs. The last few thousand as well as the middle thousand are in Subsurface. These logs contain lots of information about what I saw and what I did as well as weather, sea conditions and buddies and much more.

All my dives are also in an Excel spreadsheet so that I can instantly find a certain dive and then pull out the paper copy to read or go to the Subsurface dive. Only a few days ago I dived a site in Sydney I had not dived for a long time. I wanted to find when I had last dived it and was able to find out and read about the dive to see if my memory of the site was correct.

I'm a new diver with only 12 dives to date. I started using the Padi app, but see how that could be a problem in the future. I don't want to have the paper any more, but maybe I'll regret that one day...
Use Subsurface, free and stores on your PC and can also be stored in the Cloud. Can download from most, if not all, dive computers.

I really wish I was better at logging early on, as I was really bad about it at the beginning and I have no idea what my exact dive count is - there were a whirlwind of night dives over a few weeks and I don’t know if I did 2 or 12. I’ve gone conservative and certainly left things out, in an effort not to over-estimate.

I didn’t really appreciate the value of logging early on - and how useful it is to dial things in on subsequent dives. Now I’m meticulous about tracking exposure, weights, tank, SAC rate, and observations. I find the process of going back and “Journaling” the dive to be really rewarding.

I’ve created a custom Notion template and database, it’s super easy to use and looks nice, and I can drop in pictures from the dive, and screenshots from my dive computer app (dive profile, etc.) I pay more attention to what is written on slates and whiteboards or fish observed, etc. If Notion ever goes away (not likely), I can export it all to Excel.

I keep paper logs but as a backup, I also maintain logs on PADI, SSI and SDI/TDI websites. My Shearwaters are also record my dives automatically to the cloud.

I've been logging ever since I been diving and since I dive different configurations, I'll refer to my notes for weighting information. On my practice/maintaining skills dives at the local lake, I only log depth and time. Whenever I'm traveling or taking a course, I'll add a bit more details and information. If it's a lesson learned type situation, I'll add detailed notes, even if it's a practice dive.
