:06: Has anyone ever dove Waxahachie Creek park? :06:

They have this little warning on their website:

Swimming
There are no designated swimming areas in the park. Swimming, diving, snorkeling or scuba diving at one's own risk is permitted, except at boat ramps, courtesy docks, restricted areas, and marinas. Diving or jumping from bridges or other structures which cross project waters is prohibited.

LOL! I love this!

Debra,
We're gonna have to go check this out! You've piqued my curiosity. Let's go! Anyone else up for the adventure? LOL! Woo! Hoo! @#!%$! "This having fun thing is a lot of hard work!" -- quote richerson

Diving in Waxahachie?

I might be up for that... (only 45min away for me).. although I can't imagine it's going to be pleasant.

Maybe that's what they should have done with the abandoned Superconducting Supercollider project.....create a diving tank in its place. :D

A fifty mile ring 10 feet deep. Now that's a novel ideal for a scuba park! I actually did a VIP tour when the SSC was being built in 1990. As a young physics student it was pretty impressive.

Anyone been to this lake before? Bardwell Lake? I'm willing to take a chance and go get wet some weekend.

D.

This COE lake is actually just south of Ennis.

I live in Waxahachie and have ridden Bardwell lake several times on my jet skis. Bardwell Lake is really much closer to Ennis than Waxahachie though. I guess Waxahachie Creek feeds the lake and that's why they named the park that. I think in general its a pretty shallow, muddy lake. It always struck me as one of the murkier lakes I've taken my skis to. The park is decent though it seems like. Somewhat similar to a state park.

Debra, what has piqued your interest in diving there?

Ooh I was just searching for lakes and stuff closer to Arlington and I ran across this website. I did a search through the forums and no one had talked about it before. I would love to find a diving area closer to the Metroplex. I would like to go dive it but I am busy the next two weekends. Maybe the weekend of the Nov 26-27? Anyone wanna go? :06:

:bonk: Duhhh Nov. 26-27 is Thanksgiving weekend.

How about December 4, it's a Sunday???

That sounds shallow, cold, and muddy... hrm I'll bring veinna sausages and we'll feed the fishies.. OH Wait Soooooo sorry I am going to be on the Costa Maya that week... aww too bad. BUT I will think of you all when we dip into the clear blue :)
