This coming weekend marks the 3rd Annual Gathering of Divers using vintage equipment. Specializing in double hose regulator use, Sand Dog III as it is being called will see divers from all over the US converging on Western and Central Florida. The event officially begins on Friday, March 31 and runs through Sunday April 2. Dives are planned for Destin, FL on Thursday, March 30 for the many who want to dive in the Gulf. The remainder of the activities include dives in Alexander Spring, Blue Spring, Manatee Spring, Troy Spring, drift dives on the Silver River and the Rainbow River. The finale of the weekend includes a vintage diving show at Weekie Wachee Springs. Here the divers will showcase the equipment used in the 1950's and 1960's when sport diving was in its infancy. Demonstrations, displays, and an equipment swap are to be held. Pristine and tuned to perfection double hose regulators will be available for use if you are a certified diver and would like to experience this aspect of scuba diving.
