Oh, I guess because he is flashy?

Likes women, dresses smart....

not a typical politician,.....kidding

from Time: (is Liberation your paper? I guess ya'll named him that?)

Out are the days of somber, aloof and understated figureheads of the French Republic; welcomed in are the celebrity and multi-billionaire visitors, whom Sarkozy greets while wearing expensive suits, stylish sunglasses and conspicuously large wristwatches. Sarkozy has become what the front page of Wednesday's Libération called "The Bling-Bling President."

It's the big watches that pushed them over the edge
Don't worry, they make fun of my prez too.

Interesting!

I know Libération, but I don't read, because I am not French, but Swiss.

Bush

he takes a lot of abuse

They even spit on my car once, with my kids inside (I had a sticker)

that's okay, cause it really impressed my kids (they love that stuff) They must have told 50 people...

A last thought on the bikes. Have you thought of renting bikes when yu are there?

Provence Bike is one site I found. Provence Bike : location de velos, motos. Avignon
If you go to Location Velos, then Velos VIT or Velos do course they might have something that would suit. You can even rent a tandem might be a bit of fun.
It seems to be about 100 to 125 euro's a week for their top of the range bike.

Have a great trip.

thanks Victor!

I'm marinating in the sight of those 20% hills. It wouldn't be so bad, but JB rides much bettah.

I see those Trek bikes would be about 400/wk for the two of us.

hmmmm
we have fancier bikes
but that is a great site, JB might rent a motorcycle he says.
We could not ride tandem steep.

The conversion is .6 today.

Just got back from the south, I had my trimix cert'.
Yessssssss !:bananalama:
It was quite cold and even snowy on the hills, but it's much better now.
The wind is still blowing strong and could make you feel cold.
Congratulations. Did you get in Cavalaire?
