In my opinion Pete really enjoys teaching this information, the reason that’s important is because I feel if someone likes teaching something they’ll (usually) do a better job of it. This stuff is very elementary. I would imagine some instructors would not enjoy teaching this stuff. Just like I wouldn’t want my college professors teaching my kids kindergarten class, I wouldn’t want a kindergarten teacher lecturing me in a 400-level college class… this is assuming they’re both qualified…
Personally, I feel my trim was ok going into Pete’s class (I hope it did improve too). I did enjoy working on buoyancy and how breath control can move you up and down in the water column. Lastly, I enjoyed working with my new fins and practicing other basic skills. Now I’m sure I could hone these skills on my own, with practice in a local lake, however there’s a cost there. I feel I was able to make great progress due to Pete’s help, in a shorter length of time.
As far as regressing, I’m sure I’ll lose some of skills by the time I get wet again (early February). However, I feel as long as I keep focused on my goal I’ll keep moving in the right direction...
And I don't think I have *bad* trim... maybe not the best, but not horrible...
