The Ham Radio technician license does not require morse code anymore, that'd be a viable alternative!

24NM offshore is over the horizon...unless the nearest tower is really, really tall.

It's not really 24 miles offshore. It's 24 miles SE of Pensacola Pass. I don't know the direct compass heading from the pass, so I can't do anything but guess from how far it's from offshore. maybe 15 to 20 miles "directly" to shore.

I too have heard second hand info that sonar has confirmed it to be upright, but family is not always right. So take this info with a grain of salt.

Seriously, I couldn't stand it and just called MBT Divers in P'cola to see what they knew. They haven't heard yet but promised to post on their message forum as soon as they heard.

Just heard she is upright with top of island at 80 and flight deck at 150...Apparently she pushed a lot of sand out of the way on her way down...

It could also be explained with a slight starboard list, if that 150 feet represents the *deepest* point of the flight deck.
