Hi....I'm intending to get a full basic gear comprising of the following:

1) Oceanic Alpha 8 Sport Regulator (Retail: $239.95)
2) Oceanic Alpha 8 Octopus (Retail: $119.95)
3) Oceanic OceanPro BCD (Retail: $349.00)
4) Oceanic Swiv MaxDepth Combo Analog Gauge Console (Retail: $179.95)

Visited Oceanic's website and got those prices listed above. Total is abt US$888.85, excluding S&H.

I'm from Singapore and came across a local dive shop that's offering the above-mentioned package @ S$788.00 (abt US$528.10). Could anyone advise me if the above package is any good?

That is a good basic package. Oceanic gear is really bullet proof. You could probably order from the US and get a little more bang for your buck. Many of us have the Oceanic GT3 regulator on sale for $229.00 USD. That is a great price for such a high-performance regulator. Thanks.
