I've been reading that some people think that necklaces are worthless, and prefer their's 'bungee'd. How would one do that and why is it an improvement?

Thanks!

Damn! It was so simple, why didn't I see it? I thought I had made a necklace but it was really a bungee!!! No wonder it didn't work right...

BTW, I'd like to return this parrot...

Okay - would it be better stated as: If you don't use one of those rubber preformed necklaces, what do you use and why is it better?

She is probably referring to the practice of just bungeeing the reg to the tank or tank neck. I have seen one guy do this while sidemounting and it made horribly long to switch regs. I use a double reg necklace so I never have to clip off.

She could also be referring to the practice of simply bungeeing the excess of the long hose rather than run it around your neck.

Geez, why didn't you say so? I tried the rubber necklace for a while and the biggest problem is it does not securely hold the second stage in place, a big issue IMHO. A properly tied or tie wrap secured bungee will keep the second stage where it is supposed to be, not something you want to be fumbling around for should you need it.

I believe she is asking the benefits of a home made bungee over the manta prefab rubber ones.

Ah... I make my own. They don't make a double reg necklace and even then I like the single one that I make better. Dayo Scuba even sells them to their cavern students. Two grape knots is all it takes.
