So a bit more detail. My M1's are actually a new set of regs that I use for teaching in the pool and they will be my recreational rig. Because I am teaching I need a standard setup (primary and 36-40" alternate). I am used to a 24" alternate on my necklace tech setup and I hate the 32" primary hose on these Atomics (all that hose sticking out over my shoulder!). So I was thinking to just get at 24" primary hose to shorten it up a bit. However, the more I teach (DSD's and refreshers) the more I realize that that 32" primary hose is what all my students have and it makes the reg removal and recovery skill a bit more like what they experience (more hose, etc.), so I am actually thinking that I will just stick with the setup as it is. BUT if I stopped teaching then I would want to shorten up my primary hose to 24". My dive shop got a 24" Scubapro hose in for me (my tech rig is all Scubapro) for the Atomic but that's when I started having second thoughts. Sorry for all the detail but there you go, that's my story. The last time that the Huish Outdoors Vice President for Marketing was in our store, I discussed the hose issue with him.
Since M1's are normally used for deco applications, the normal 32 inch hose does not work for many people who wrap the hose around their neck. I discussed putting a 40 inch hose on instead.
On the subject of atomic hoses, if you replace that standard length hose with something else you might want to get the same grade of hose particularly for technical diving. Many other readily available hoses do not have the same level of durability.
While Atomic does not market shorter hoses, Huish does sell the same grade hose in many other lengths separately. I suspect whoever manufactures the hoses also specifically labels the hoses for Atomic. Contact a Huish dealer and see if they will get one for you.
We use those for 28, 40, and 84 inch hoses among others.
If no one will help you, contact me.
