BTW piikki what gender are you?
Because your profile shows you declined to say.

Maybe you are a men
:D:D:D

Mania

Doesn't appear like a 'just kidding' post.

The impression I get is:
Mania meant "man" instead of "men".
Mania was being sarcastic.
Grins were to irritate, not amuse.

The accurate term is sex, not gender

Remember: "people have sex, nouns have gender".

thanks for correcting my English. Just to remind you - English is not my native language so some mistakes are not meant to be ones.

But then why in SB profile the question is "gender" not sex???

Mania

I accidently posted here once.

I am female, I have no problem saying so. If you think that means that I am less of a diver then I suggest you come out for a dive with me. But just as non DIR divers would like to read the DIR forum, and nonSolo divers read the SOLO forum, I think the Women's forum benefits from some of the postings and insights that come from MEN. The difference is that posters need to be aware of the environment that they are posting in. If they are off base, report it, don't exclude them all. It's just throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Women ARE in the minority in the diving world. It is useful to have a Women's forum to discuss issues related to women......in case no one has noticed, we ARE physically different. It's very easy for our issues to be drowned out and missed in the main forums since we are a minority of divers.

I couldn't have said it better.

pennypue:
Leave all genders with access (this includes males, females, hermaphrodite, transsexuals, and asexuals) to the Women's forum.

I think you may have missed a few. :D But I agree.

......I don't look here very often mainly because some of the topics are making me crazy. And some of the questions are way "too blond ones" (with all due respect to natural blondes)......

maybe you would like to give us a Mania approved list of topics that can be discussed in the womens forum because although you dismissed the topic you posted your distaste for it. it obviously was important to a diver to ask. no less important as asking hair up or down while diving

Leah - im quite happy for the men to access womens only forum as they could learn a few things ;) not too long ago there was a dad asking questions on how to help a his teenage daughter on a issue but as with the Savlo thread-at times it becomes a boys club and if you find posts that arent adding to the topic or offensive then the report button can be used.

cheers

I understand that asking about removing nail polish is an extremle important question that had to be asked?
Here as in many other places in SB are both - valuable threads and not really valuable ones.

Mania
PS. And BTW I never said I'm against having Women forum. I was against prohibiting men participation.

[C]OK guys and gals,

We're not in the Surface Interval here.

Please keep the posts on-topic.

Thank you.

FWIW, I would suggest that a forum is of value 'after the fact.' Like most I look to 'new posts', but when I want info from a 'whats been said on a specific topic in the past', I then head for the forum that seems to be the best starting search point.

For the record, my wife dives but is not much of a computer person (they are all out to get her on some strange type of vendetta) so my wonderings are usually the result of some concern/issue she has mentioned.
