I think we should ask the government to move out state just out of reach of the hurricanes - that should be a simple request to fulfil and then we wouldnt need to worry about such things! :wink:
 
Well.. I heard that if everyone in the state puts box fans out of their windows facing the direction of the hurricane, we can change the path it takes!

Black line heading directly over my house and my parents house at the moment. Time to batten down the hatches and stow all the gear, we're in fer a ruff un!
 
the five-day chart shows Ivan
heading into the Gulf and landing somewhere in the Panhandle
late Wednesday, early Thursday morning.

Ivan is fluctuating in strength, but it still packs
160 mph winds and is still a Cat 4.
Hurricane-strength winds extend out 100 miles;
tropical storm winds extend out 220 miles.

in the meantime, evacuations are starting in the Panhandle and New Orleans.
