I used to be a lawyer . . .

Then I died and went to heaven and am now in-house! It's fun to be the client--you change from an ugly catepillar to a beautiful butterfly and everyone wants to take you out to lunch.

OK, I do still try the occasional case for gunnery practice, and to train the younger lawyers in the black arts.

I'm not a lawyer. But when I was single, I dated quite a few of them.
Lawman why are you asking for lawyers?
Can we tell lawyer jokes on your thread?

I do know one you might not have heard, but it's kinda mean. Maybe I shouldn't. :)

Attorneys are only as good as their staff......:D

I can agree with that (as I pat myself on the back).

However, I agree with DivePartner1's assessment - in-house counsel is the way to go.

My wish - to land a job working for in-house counsel with a local airline - that way I can stay in my field AND get employee flight benefits.

Chepar? Hawaii?

I may be representing someone in something out there in a month if I can bluff my way into it. "Can't delegate important stuff like that to local counsel"---- at least not anywhere diveable! Seriously, I just finished a case out there (it was in the papers) a year ago and loved doing depositions in Hawain shirts. Unfortunately, all the normal nonsense still applied.

And so NE Wreck, Lawman and Tim don't feel left out, I have a reported decision in the First Circuit, a case pending in the Sixth that I hope will set new standards in sanctions for frivolous litigation, and a case in USNY that will go to a Manhattan jury this year (gulp!) if I don't win the pending summary judgment motion. Nothing in Portugal at the moment though I had one in Spain a few years ago that was intriguing.

Don't take this wrong but somehow, I'd rather be fighting the forces of evil where Chepar lives.

Tim, do they have any good diving near NYC other Dutch Springs?

Well, of course all the normal nonsense still applies - you guys just can't help yourselves! :D

Seriously though, if you head on down this way and your stay runs through a weekend, drop me a PM.

Very cool. I've got one in the First, a few in the Mass Appeals Court and, if I'm a good boy, I may get my first Federal Circuit later this year (if the Motion for New Trial is denied).

DP1, some of the best wreck diving in the world is out in Long Island Sound and off the Jersey shore. Check out the Eagle's Nest (Capt. Klein).
