If you're going for a overhead dive, completely agreed.
But if you're going for a chill open water dive in a wetsuit?
That seems overkill.
Having it clipped to out of a pocket it to much of a snag hazard.
i shoot one every dive, some sites, I will shoot a bigger one, when it’s a crowded site, I’ll just use a small one. You can use different color smbs to signal the boat different things. You can shoot a few when demonstrating for students or other divers.
lol. In the northeast there is no such thing as a”chill open water dive”. I would rather have it there each dive where I know where it is then change it depending in the dive and fumble in an emergency. Plus my buddy always knows where mine is if he needs it.
