Scubapro MK17/G250.
 
I like Conshelf (balanced diaphragm) first stages on ebay for 30-60$. They are bullet proof, and easy to repair. I like ScubaPro second stages R109, G250. Conshelf second stage are rugged, but are a little bit more of a pain to tune... I have purchased 4 different Conshelf / Scuba pro reg sets from ebay. Each where under 100 dollars. Two kits where under 80. I dive in South Cal and the water can get to mid fortys(under 10 c) at depth. Regulators worked great the whole time.
