Ok, so two tanks of fatty nitrox 100cf done. As I expected, Merry-D short filled them. One was 3,100 the other around the same.

As for weird characteristic, it was not NEARLY as bad as I remembered from 100 airs I used before. I needed to shed about 3-4 pounds of weight. Maybe a bit more today. It did not get fantastically buoyant at the end as I remembered. Maybe I was just a sucky diver then. Anyway, the only time I noticed the difference really was it was heavier climbing the ladder.

On the other hand the extra volume was exactly what I needed to keep up with the missus, so far. I like it....

Chief, as the week progresses keep track of the pressures and let us know. If a tank is sitting around the pressure may be low due to valve seat seep or just cooling fully to ambient. With your using a steady stream of EAN 100's and the low number of rental stock you should be guaranteed in getting fresh fills. Also with the new government in office they have been enforcing the existing noise ordnance from 0000-0400 so most likely the fill will have been done the evening before and the tank cooled.
When I have gone and picked up rental air 100's I have seen a lot of short fills from the stock against the west wall and have rarely seen a tank above 3100.

I believe those are reference as UNACCEPTABLE SHORT/HOT FILLS.

Well, several tanks in and it is the same as it was with the 100 Cf air. All of them filled just like 80s to around 3000 psi.

I have to think they just do 3000 for all the tanks as it is easier? Maybe someone should ask them why?

Anyway, it is still more gas and it is enough for my purposes.

Here is a Meridiando menu I shamelessly ripped from a DD post.
DISCLAIMER!!!!, I am not agreeing or endorsing it but they list two service pressure they fill to, 3000 PSI and 3500 PSI. There does not seem to be a listing of 3300 PSI for AL100's, rental or customer provided tanks. This is consistent with what I have found in the past.

Makes us appreciate those dive shops that insist on doing their own high quality 'full' fills! Short fills really annoy me as they represent 'theft' IMHO!

My guess is they have automatic fills to 3000 and automatic fills to 3500. I'd pick 3500 but they would pick 3000.

My dealings have been smile big, tip well and see what you can get the next day. Great guys working there and they've been patient with this gringo with bad Spanish.

I'll ask about getting 3300 fills on the al100s out of curiosity. I must have gotten lucky. Only dove a pair the one day and they were solid fills.

Enjoy the diving!

Ps. I don't envy working a fill station that size as a career for who knows what wage.

Sure, it's easier and gets the tanks done faster. They charge 36 Pesos more to fill Nitrox 32 to 1200# plus 16% taxes = $41.76 Mxn or about $2.08 Usd, so it'd be a fare question.
Maybe i will see if I can get an answer why?
