That is very good info. What are the QCS rings made out of?
Not sure, the insert that holds the seal is plastic? What you put the inserts in is malleable. Tried to upload a video but it wouldn’t let me

My opinion is apparently an outlier. I like my silicone seals, but I don’t like my quick change rings. I wish I’d gotten the seals without the rings. The rings make it too cluttered in front of my neck when I pull down my mask, and they interfere with things like my light and other things I’d normally have on or near my wrists, and they catch on my straps when I’m putting my BC on or taking it off.

I would go with the orust neck ring instead of quick neck.
Wrist seals I chose the sitech system that supports the UDG system and the Rolock 90.
When I am diving warmer waters I put the oval rings with wet gloves and for colder waters switch to the Rolock 90 system.

I’ve heard the orust isn’t as good and you can lose or break those little clips.

SO much nicer to just climb down the boat ladder until you're in the water up to mid-thigh and let go. And to be able to pee during the dive.
Can confirm it's ok to pee in the boat... at least once!

Personally I like chatting it up with people on the boat while on the ladder and then when they ask what I'm doing I let them know and the mortified looks are priceless.

Cool. I think I understand better now.

If you get the Oval rings, it is just the insert that is oval. If you take that insert out and replace it with the Ultima system, then you no longer have Oval wrists.

Correct?

In that case, it sounds very similar to the Slaggo wrists. The part that is glued to the suit sleeve is flexible plastic. When you add an Ultima ring, then it is round and no longer flexible.

Yes, 100% correct.

Edit: this is how I installed the rings in my other suit. I bought the QCS PU rings glued them in and the Ultimas fit right in.

You would need some type of system (Antares, Slaggo, WP, Rolock) to actually put the seal in though.

Quick Neck vs Orust is a set of tradeoffs.

Yes, Orust has clips that you could lose or break. But, it comes with extra clips, in case you lose one or two. And, there are more clips than you actually need. If you swapped out a seal and lost one or two in the process, you could still assemble it and go dive with one or two less clips than you started with.

Orust is more flexible/softer than Quick Neck.

A person with narrow shoulders can be made uncomfortable by Quick Neck, because the shoulder straps of their harness cross over the Quick Neck ring and press it into their shoulders. The Orust ring is softer and more flexible, so it could be more comfortable for a person like that.

Also, for a thin person, the neck ring makes a sharper bend to go from the front of the chest to the back. That bend can be sharp enough that the spline ring in the Quick Neck system has a tendency to pop out of its groove. Orust is supposed to be better in this regard.

So, like I said earlier, if you are big enough to be comfortable with the Quick Neck and not have it bend too sharply as it wraps over your shoulders, it is definitely the option I would recommend. But, if you are narrower or thinner, the Orust could be a better choice.
