NetDoc, you DA MAN!!

I did come up with another little dorky one, obviously no match for Weird Petey's talents, but here it goes.

This is to Gene Autry's "Back in the Saddle Again".
Apologies to the late Mr. Autry.

I'm back in the water again,
Out where the fish are my friends,
Where the calicos stay, and the Garibaldis play
I'm back in the water again.

Well, I'm back in the water again
Where a diver can go and see what's below
The walls are steep, and the floor is deep
Well, I'm back in the water again.

Geez, I really need to get wet AND SOON, argh!

A big, big SCUBAboard hand to OD and SoCalDiver!!! I thought they were great parodies... SoCal, I think that even matches "You've got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story...

Socal, you must have picked up on my vibes. That song has been going through my head for the past six weeks, ever since I got back to the NW from SE Florida. So I found the lyrics and did the version that follows:

[red] BACK IN SEATTLE AGAIN [/red]
(Back in the Saddle Again, Gene Autry)

Back in Seattle again,
Out where drysuits are my friends,
Where the giant octo's grab on the tasty red-rock crab;
I'm back in Seattle again.

Diving the Sound once more,
No more balmy 84
Where you're really glad to say you can shore dive every day,
I'm back in Seattle again.

Whoopee-ti-yi-yo, to micro-brews I go,
Back in Seattle again.
Whoopee-ti-yi-yay, at Seacrest I play,
Back in Seattle again.

With apologies to Rolf Harris, and all you fans of "Tie me Kangaroo Down Sport"

(refrain)
All together now...
Gimme your octopus NOW, Sport
Gimme your octopus NOW!
I'm really out of air, and HOW, Sport!
So, gimme your octopus NOW!

(spoken)
As I was out for sport one day,
Scuba-diving
I found a poor bloke lying on the
Bottom-dying,
So I bent my head to listen
To what he had to say
The sweat was starting to glisten
As he slowly slipped away....

(refrain)

Please, cut me weight belt loose, Bruce!
Please, cut me weight belt loose!
Ah, its of no further use, Bruce;
So, please, cut me weight belt loose!

(refrain)

Fill me BC from the side, Clyde!
Fill me BC from the side
That's so I'll float with the tide, Clyde,
So, fill me BC from the side

(refrain)

Leave me mask on me face, Grace!
Leave me mask on me face!
It's better if left in place, Grace,
So, leave me mask on me face

(refrain)

And leave me wet-suit on, Don!
Just, leave me wet-suit on!!!
Ah crikey, it's not Gold lamae, Don!!!
So, just leave me poor wet suit on!!!

(refrain)

Help me off with my tank, Hank!
Please, help me off with my tank!
Just give it a good ol' yank, Hank!
And help me off with my tank!

(refrain)

Don't let me Twin Jets fret, Chet!
Don't let me Twin Jets fret!
They just need to stay wet, Chet!
So, don't let me Twin Jets fret!

(refrain)

So, I guess I'll catch you later, gator!
I guess I'll just catch you later!!!
Next time I turn on my regu-lator!
So, I guess I'll just catch you later!!!

All together now...
Gimme your octopus NOW, Sport
Gimme your octopus NOW!
Please just don't have a cow, Sport!
And, gimme your octopus NOW!

(OK, I left out the snorkle, dive light, reel, etc... just shoot me!!!)

Oh that hurt,

I hereby officially plug my nose and run screaming from the room.

Very nice.

Matt

That the real humor is that many think I spend oodles of time concocting these parodies. Read them closely and it is obvious that I spend very little time... just whatever it takes to type them. I like the stream of consciousness (or was that UN-consciousness) method and it seems to be the most spontaneous.

Bravo NetDoc,

As Lawrence Welk would say:

"wunnerful, wunnerful"

I so enjoy your parodies. You have a unique and "rare" talent!

different use of the word "rare" Oh, the many usages of words in the english language. Must give fits to people learning the language for the first time. Of course in Espanol, (Castellano) there are many different words, too.

I personally, love word usage books, and my primary e-mail password is a very obscure version of a descriptive word, although I will refrain from giving out that information.

What about my suggestion of "The Dive"?
