I'm a member and insured. I had to use the ins. once locally and they did pay an amount that my primary health ins. did not pay. DAN is only a secondary insurance as they told me. I assume they become primary if there is no other ins. I now have a health ins. with a very high deductable so I'm not sure how DAN would pay out. Hopefully I won't find out but it would be nice to know. I guess a call to them would be in order.

Joined DAN before diving out the country, I have the middle of the road insurance? I can't remember the type but not the most expensive. I have some diving friends who have used it before, and DAN is amazing about providing coverage and helicopter transport when needed. I will be renewing this year!

Gf and I are both members and insured.

Yes. The entire famned damilly, yes.

I had the free coverage while training and never let it lapse. The premiums are cheap for the coverage. I have never needed it but feel confident knowing it is there if I need it. Plus if you want to access some of the information available, being a member makes it easy. There is a lot of information there.

Wife and I both have both. Haven't let it lapse in several years. Will save you a bundle if you ever needed a chamber IMHO. I see poeple chatting about that there regular INS companies will cover everything.......make sure of that...I talked with my provider and I have LIMITED, VERY LIMITED coverage if im out of the Con US/and Canada. SO I think its a good "gap" coverage if you will....

Absolutely - don't dive without it, and they're specialists so know what they are talking about. The articles and website facilties are good too. - P

The middle one should be the minimum for anyone, as the cheapest is only $10/year cheaper but not nearly as good. see this chart: http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/insurance/compare.asp

The middle and top plan cover any diving injury, even an ear barotrauma which is a common injury - altho not common "Swimmer's Ear" which is an avoidable infection.

Both my daughter and I are DAN members and insured.

I got the family plan (just had to add a new family member today) and the master plan insurance only for me as I'm the only diver.
