This is great work by the defense, and typical of the arrogance of the DoJ. But I expect they won’t have any problem proving gross negligence given the whole series of terrible decisions extending for years…

A federal grand jury indicted a former California boat captain Tuesday on a misconduct charge related to a fire that tore through his vessel on Labor Day 2019, killing 34 people, prosecutors said.
Looks like "an" indictment is back, but not "The" indictment? Now "misconduct" not "manslaughter", still may get him 10 years though.
