I'm sure I'd do it the exact same way you are if I were wearing it on my right hand, that makes a lot of sense.
I use a single bungie so one loop can borrow slack from the other, makes it easier to get it over my glove rings to get it on my wrist.

I find atop hand much more user friendly and requires no change to swimming position and is oriented without needing to contort arm. YMMV.

Over your glove rings?

The wrist loop on mine goes just to my wrist itself. It does not reach over/past dry glove rings.
Yeah, I was probably just confusing the issue due to my left wrist mount versus right hand preference:

ok then, yes, your reply is idiot as you said.

If one can't manage to dive without tourniqueting their arm with a dive compass... maybe pick up a different sport like competitive knitting. Well, maybe not as that could result in poking out an eye. Sorry, just out of ideas to safeguard against ridiculous scenarios.

From the wrist, the affliction, has crept to the hands

Yeah I need my hands and wrists free of encumberances too man, to work in conjunction with my mouth

I just can't do the Superman pose, be fighting the wetsuit all the way, is it the drysuit keeps their arms up

I mostly dive neoprene drysuit anyway, similar thing

And then from out of the shadows they appear, no wristie stuff required

I really hope my amount of taco is acceptable

Jeez they invent some unnusual stuff
Let them those all be Supermen I say

Imagine fighting sharks covered in wristie things

I really hope something is lost in translation here, because these kinds of comments are unhelpful and unwelcome.

Carrying a compass while diving is important. Whether you're mounting it to your wrist or your hand, less so. You can certainly feel free to try to explain why mounting a compass to your hand is far superior than other options, but you can also do so without calling people or their posts idiotic.

I like to keep my hands as unencumbered as possible, efficient for dry/wet/none glove changes in response to dive profile, easier to get in and out of pockets, and I prefer to use a compass on my left wrist like a watch rather than a lump on the back of my right hand. Doesn't have to be better or worse than other options, it can just be a perfect safe, perfectly reasonable personal preference. The bungee around my wrist isn't restricting blood flow any more than the bungee around your fingers, and if "tournequeting [sic] their arm" is your best argument to hand mount versus wrist mount, maybe best to just to avoid making that argument at all.

The OP back in 2020 specifically asked about compass placement, and KenE a few weeks ago asked about bungee routing. Where to wear it is the first choice, how to route the bungee the is the second. I contend that my response was completely on topic, and not idiotic at all.

I read that the DC electronics can mess with the magnetic compass and one shouldn’t wear them right next to each other…?

That may be the case but I've been diving this configuration for many years and have never noticed anything.

Now I did notice wonky compass readings a few years back when I used a light with magnetic collar in same hand as compass, had me scratching my head for a bit.

It might be a far enough distance as compass is atop hand and DC half way up my wrist🤔 Next time I dive I'll experiment, I'm curious now🙏🏻

AC electronics as well. Me experienced wrong compass readings :
1. Compass and old good VR-3 computer are on same hand - presume electro-luminescent backlight converter of VR-3 was the cause.
2. Compass and DIY underwater light with step-down converter are on same hand - presume un-shielded step-down converter was the cause.
3. Compass and underwater light with magnetic switch are on same hand - presume step-up converter or magnet in switch was the cause.
Problem was solved via wearing devices and compass on different hands.
