You know, Brian's experience discussed here, and the other's writing here, tell me that I'm not going to go to a CCR, probably ever. I dive solo in freshwater, but shallowly. I use a lot of different, mainly vintage double hose regulators, and that gives me enough silence to get pretty good macro photos. CCRs seem to be extremely finicky, and even experienced CCR users are dying. To me, the risk is not worth the reward. But then, I'm not diving at age 77 for hours at a time inside a cave or wreck either.
