You know that is an odd one. I have read lots of high praise and real negativity on that sandwich. I tried it and thought it was good. I would eat eat again. Rest of my crew was unimpressed.

Count me as among the unimpressed. After reading so many rave reviews, I had to try this sandwich. Not that it was bad, mind you. I just thought it was heavy and chewy on that home-made rye bread, the cheese and bacon overwhelmed any flavor of the lobster, it just wasn't anything like what I was expecting - something closer to Lobster Shack's Lobster Roll. I certainly don't think it was terrible, but I'm not in any rush to go get another one.
Just wanted to throw another vote in for El Pique. My friends and I actually call our loose semblance of a diving club Chorizo con Queso cause we love their Chorizo con Queso tacos so much. Best tacos I've ever had anywhere.

Re: Le Chef's Lobster & Bacon... Interesting you weren't impressed. Maybe it was day-old bread or a different cook you experienced? Hmmmm. I've only eaten one of them on our last trip so perhaps my experience will be different on our next and could prove to be a let-down (hope not).
Having spent 15 years in Boston in my past I could care less about another rendition of a lobster roll... Especially a lobster roll made with Carribean lobsters which lack claws for a reason... BECAUSE NOTHING HAS WANTED TO EAT THEM FOR THE PAST MILLION YEARS until some starving humans took a chance (eat this thing or starve to death), and learned they wouldn't get sick from them.
Best way to prepare Lobster? Dropped into boiling sea water and cooked for 10 min (up to 2lb size).
Of course, I do put them to sleep before the head-first plunge into the pot. How do you put a Lobster to sleep? Stand it on it's head with its tail sticking up and keep petting its tail until it curls down - that forces all the "blood" to their head and they'll go 100% limp and to sleep... Not sure if they wake up in the boiling pot or not but if they do, they aren't awake for long! Far more kind than trying to stab a knife through its shell into its head.

I've found that just 10 minutes in the freezer puts a Lobster sound asleep. And it's easier than trying to pet its tail. Just do NOT forget the lobster in the freezer.

Must have been one of those freaky warm water Carribean lobsters. Take a real MA to ME cold water lobster and stick it in the freezer for 10 minutes you'll open the door and find one P-o'ed lobster that's torn up everything in there! ; )

Right next door to their old location. They have a nice little garden area out back, and a little more inside space.
I gave this a shot this past Saturday night, and all I can say is WOW! One of the best meals I've ever had in Cozumel, and the price was fantastic. Total bill for a LOT of tender, tasty food and a beer was less than $13 dollars US. Staying at Suites Bahia makes this restaurant very convenient as well.
Enjoyed diving with you, Gary. Look forward to next time. Oh, and I had the pulled pork at The Pub Sunday afternoon as well. Great recommendation, and I'll be hitting that place up on Sunday again next trip....
