My parents are finally coming from Florida for a visit and requested we spend our time in Bali at the Hyatt in Sanur as they LOVE the Bali Hyatt. (It is nice). I just looked at room rates in July and they have literally tripled since Christmas. I knew prices were gonna go up, but uggggh. This hurts.

Yeah sadly I think the Corona specials are coming to and end. Last year a friend of a friend got me a deal at the Kempinski for 1jt a night. But now same thing you have found, the price is tripled/quadrupled.

Also it seems like all the restaurant and diving specials are coming to an end as well.

Really it actually seems like things are more expensive due to global supply chain issues, the war, and businesses trying to regain losses by increasing pricing.
For example 20kg tub of Sofnolime is crazy expensive now, 4jt direct from the supplier in Denpasar, and I am assuming if your a holiday diver the dive center your purchasing from will add there mark up to that, say maybe 4.5jt-5jt about USD $320-$350 for a tub. That is over double the price compared to the US.
Even little things like Apeks service kits, the distributer in Sanur is charging almost 1jt now. Almost double the pre-covid price.

Very curious to see what helium cost will be in the next couple months. Last year a G from the supplier in Denpasar was 6jt (I think most dive centers are charging customers 2,100 IDR per liter, almost 2x the cost price) and on top of that sounds like it is going up soon due to the war.

Sorry to hear that. Could they wait a bit after the surge dies down?

June, July, August is traditionally high season in Bali. The more I search around, it seems very clear that places are filling up and people are coming back. As much as this sucks for my wallet, I am super happy this is happening.

I've just booked flights today to SIN-MDC-DPS-SIN-DXB :D
For when are you going to be in Manado?

So far you can only get VoA by flying directly to Bali. So are you going to get B211A visa for entering Indonesia through Manado?

We’ll be going to Sangalaki on White Manta in August. The boat crew will pick us up in Berau. So, we need to enter Indonesia through Jakarta and then take domestic flight (Lion Air) to Berau. Based on today’s situation, there is no VoA available in Jakarta. We need to apply for B211A visa. Plan B is to fly to Bali (more expensive) then take domestic flights Denpasar-Jakarta (at wee hours) & Jakarta-Berau, as there’s no direct domestic flight from Denpasar to Berau (again cost more & longer flights at wee hours).

I've applied for this visa, still waiting for it to come through, hopefully it happens this week (fingers crossed).

Please let us know how long that takes.

Others in USA please do the same.

Thanks!

What is a real PITA though was the vaccine verification process.

Maximum file size is 1Mb, so you need to make sure hat your passport copy as well as three vaccine copies are all under that size in total.

There’s Indonesian Consulate in Houston. I’m going to start to apply for it. How much did you spend?
