Applying for Indonesian Visa is Faster and Easier with e-Visa

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 transmission, the Indonesian government is continuously leveraging innovative responses such as the introduction of digital public services. The Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights has launched an electronic visa (e-Visa) application system aimed to provide ease of access, especially during the pandemic.
The e-Visa application system will also facilitate future foreign tourists who wish to visit Indonesia after the pandemic, making a positive impact on the development of tourism and creative economy of Indonesia. In the meantime, safe tourist destinations are being prepared in compliance with health protocols.
With the launch of this service, foreigners no longer need to visit the Republic of Indonesia Representative out of the country or the Immigration Office in the country to get a visa sticker on their passport. To enter Indonesia, they just need to apply for a visa online via this e-Visa application system.
The steps to apply for the Indonesian e-Visa are as follows:
1. Visit https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/
2. Register
- Enter data and upload required documents (individual/ corporation)
- Wait for the email notification which contains the username and password
3. Apply for Visa
- Log in using the username and password
- Select the type of visa you wish to apply for, enter data, and upload required documents
- Make PNBP payments (Make sure the data and documents are correct. If the application is rejected, the payment shall not be refunded)
- If the application is approved, a notification will be sent via email

The application for e-Visa can be submitted from wherever the applicant is. The verification process will be quick, which is 2 (two) working days, and then the visa will be sent to the applicant. In order to cut bureaucratic procedures, the applicant and the guarantor will not be required to appear in person and the visa will be sent directly via email. Once the foreign citizens (WNA) receive their e-Visa, they can immediately travel to Indonesia.
The ease of applying for an Indonesian visa will play an important role to facilitate the post-pandemic recovery of tourism and creative economy sectors. With this innovation, the number of tourists visiting Indonesian destinations is expected to grow after the pandemic.

Received my B211A visa today, eight working days.
Did you apply for it by yourself or using an agent?

I browsed over https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/ and didn’t like what I see. The website is buggy, slow and cumbersome. Also it requires a guarantor. This website seems to be written for travel agent. So, I’m going to let my travel agent to get the B211A for me.

You need a visa agent to do it for you. The usual B211A application wont work. Some folks that tried to apply on their own have been denied. Your agent can be act as your guarantor or the resort you are staying with can as well. I got mine in 5 business days. At the time, I paid $175 USD. The same agent processing my partner’s is now $313 but they gave him a discount to $250 since I did a referral for a couple of people. March promo pricing for the visa is over. I imagine more folks are applying now that quarantine is over and restrictions continue to get lifte.

FYI Indonesia has announced removal of arrival PCR for international arrivals, effective as soon as the circular is released. I imagine within the next week? They also announced over the weekend that domestic flight testing is back. If you’re boosted, no test needed. No vaccination due to contraindications of getting vaccinated or only 1-2 doses have testing requirements that vary. Antigen and PCR.

After evaluating pros & cons for entering into Indonesia thru Jakarta or Bali, I decided Bali is the winner as we plan to stay in Bali for 3 days before going home anyway (to see Mola Mola).

Unless I find a better deal, the cheapest roundtrip Houston-Jakarta with EVA air is $1328 + PITA B211A ($250), while roundtrip Houston-Denpasar with Singapore air is $1220 + VoA ($35). If I need to fly to Berau for the Sangalaki trip via Jakarta, the flight fare for DPS-CGK is only $60.

August is the peak of Mola Mola season. Don’t want to miss it, after flying half around the world & the PITA to get there.

@Dan

@outofofficebrb has just informed me that VoA now an option for MDC as from 6th April.

However if you are planning to stay for more than 30 days then the B211A visa is the better option.

Underwater Tribe just emailed me to let me know that Jakarta is also VoA. Now I just need to wait until all the domestic flights are back to figure out how to get around inside the country!

@Searcaigh & @Darnold9999 thanks for the heads up. I heard rumor that VoA would also cover Jakarta soon.

Anyone who has an official notice about this, please post a link here.

I have a month to wait as my entry date is Aug 7 and the B211A is only valid within 90 days of issuance.
