I was in collision repair for years and have stepped on many Snap-On, Mac, and Matco trucks and spent a lot of money. It’s the convenience of them coming to you and then payment plans make it easy. They also have the best warranties around, lifetime for most hand tools.
One of my Snap-On guys told me that one of the big aviation companies developed a special nut/bolt for a wheel hub that was very large and also very specialized. They came to Snap-On to design and produce the special socket needed to use on that bolt to the tune of $6K each.

This thread has drifted

Current turned strong and we had to just drift with it and not swim against it per good diving practices.

Back to the original question; can the AquaLung/US Divers brand(s) rise, Phoenix-like from the ashes, or are they done whether they know it or not?

Good question. I sure hope that all will be fine and good soon. It will be a most terrible thing for the diving industry if it didn't end well.

My dive shop says they are able to get some stock and parts kits again but I don’t know if that means they are just freeing up old stock that was frozen in a warehouse somewhere, or if they are actually manufacturing new stuff.

That’s an unknown. An LDS here still sells AL/Apeks. Another one is going all-in with Scubapro and clearing out their Aqualung rental fleet. Costco hasn’t carried US Divers snorkeling sets in a while - I have a feeling they’ll have IST do a road show at stores with high scuba participation(SoCal/Florida).

Which LDS is dumping all Aqualung and going all-in with SP?
Just curious since you’re Bay Area.
