YOU were in the same room as Jackie Chan? Breathing the SAME air? Sweeeetttt! Chris Tucker is the guy who starred with Chan in the Rush Hour movies, his greatest work though is "Friday", you gotta see it!

Rob, have you read Jackie Chan's autobiography? It's fascinating. I'm a big Chan fan, too.

I have a chapter in a book, does that count as famous? Actually, I have chapters in two books. One on leukocyte adhesion molecules (doesn't that sound fascinating?) and another in a humor book on dressage riding. I would guess about the same number of scubaboarders have read each.

I'd get a big kick out of meeting William Gibson or Dan Simmons. I want to ask them where on earth they get all their ideas from.

I met George Burns, once. I was walking through the Dallas/Ft. Worth airport on my way to being stationed in Japan. He was walking down a quiet, mostly empty concourse. I said, "Hello, Mr. Burns." He drew himself up and peered down at me, extended his big ol' paw and shook my hand, and said, "Well hello there, young feller!" Very cool....

My mother usually calls me by my brother's name, then the cat's name, then my dad's name, and finally gets MINE right. LOL
my grandmother had her nose pinched and shook by Jimmy Durante on a cruise ship in Mexico. :D

When I was working as a roadie back in the early 80's I got to do shows with Chubbie Checker, Boxcar Willie, and one with Tammy Wynette. All very nice people. We were supposed to supply a sound system for a George Jones show but he got drunk and canceled. He did alot of that in those days. I also had a chance to hook up with Heart's crew for a European tour but passed as I'd just met my first wife and things were getting pretty serious(big mistake). I have met a few governors, senators, congressmen. I do not however consider politicians famous. I would like to meet Hillary though to ask her if while Bill was recovering from his heart surgery if he got any get well cards from Monica, Jennifer, or Juanita. I'd love to see her reaction. The person I'd most like to meet and dive with is the guy from "The Unit" who plays the SGT Major. He is a diver and saw him do a tv special where they were diving the Saratoga I believe.

Well, I am not famous or anything like that. But I will say that in the world of diving --- I know a lot of people -- and a lot more people know me/have read my posts somewhere or knew of me than I ever knew was possible!

I learned that after my accident and I was truly blown away.

Hey, Kimber... you're famous, but I'm infamous!

Actually, for all you ladies who have asked. Yes, I AM the real Robert Redford... of the UW world at least. I make films, I star in them.

I have met a number of "famous" people. I used to teach their kids in private school back in the 70's. A few have dived on "our" boat (the King Neptune), and I've actually dive buddied with two female porn stars. I didn't realize it at the time (don't watch the stuff myself). They behaved themselves.

Oh that guy. Yeah, he'd be a riot at a party, wouldn't he?

Lynne, No I haven't read his autobiography (or your bit on dressage either, I'm afraid). How on earth did you find anything humorous to say about dressage riding... !? You're even more amazing than I thought! LOL.

R..

I used to be a sound engineer. I've met and worked with a lot of famous people (movies, and music).

It's impossible for me to list them all, but some memorable ones were - several members of the Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, Toots Hibbert (Toots and the Maytals), Steel Pulse, Eek-a-Mouse, Arlo Guthrie, James Brown, Geroge Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, JJ Cale, and many other current and future members of the Rock and Roll hall of fame. It was fun. I got to work closely with many people, and it was a great experience.

I can't believe you forgot :hippy:
