It was great to see all the scubaboarders out there. I had a really great time and the food was marvelous.

Special thanks to PolorBear Ben and bdrannik for buddying up with me.

Ben - I learned a great technique for diving in a specific location and not having to get lost. Appreciate you sharing that... although in the end I got lost anyway LOL.

bdRannick - Thanks for finding 99% of my shark teeth.. How the heck do you even see them all.. They all looked like shells to me.. I am just great at finding the rocks. At least I didn't go home empty handed.

Thanks to both of you again.

Well if it is yours, just let me know the brand name.... no biggie. Trust me, if you lost this one you would know its name I'd think.
Probably not mine, but it was Scuba Pro that I lost... VB has claimed more than I have recoverd... but, they all seem to equal out after a while..

Also, you should have tried the chili, one of the 80 hotdogs, deviled eggs, or the other numerous things that were so delicious. :)
The chili-dogs were fantastic! Once the buns arrived... This was just as good as last year's event. The only thing different was that Jamie offered his boat as a bonus! It is unfortunate that I/my group couldn't submit to the event as it unfolded... But, we were there to be sure all the crap was cleaned up...

What a great day, Big thanks to who ever ordered the weather.
Got about 30 miles into my drive home and hit the rain, good timing.
Hope next year we can make it a full weekend.

Took a little while but I figured out what to look for.

:dork2: o you or Ben must share- I am navigationally challenged and get lost in my swimming pool. :dork2:

Let's see... I had to pick up Adam around 8:00 Friday evening...
Kris got in around 8:15 Friday eveining...
Sorry, I missed the get together for the Tampa area divers, but it took me 1.5 hours to make it through Tampa (heavy rains) all the way to Valrico to pickup my son, and then drive back to Pinellas...

We were on the road to Venice before 8:30 AM, good for the tres of us! One stop at Mickey D's for the morning (The boy is an eating machine, I tell you... Last night he went through a Totino's pizza, a bag of chips, a bag of Dorito's, a bag of Bugle's, a bag of Cheeto's, a pint of Ice Cream... and a cheese burger...) and on to exit 200 Venice Beach, Fl. ....

We arrived 10-10:15, and there was room to off-load in front of Walter's SUV. We dumped everything there and I parked KBeck's new RAV4 around the corner.

By the time I got back to the "dump point" most of our "crap" was on the beach... only the cooler of water & sodas remained, so I carried that down to our "invasion point", and set up our "Gazebo". The sun was still in the early morning position, and we repositioned chairs, coolers, etc. throughout the day. I don't know who was next to us, but they have the same "Gazebo" and butted it up to us with precision accuracy, making the entire space 10x20... very cool for everyone! All I can say is that Joyce was in the shade any time she wanted to be...

Recently added to the Alhambra site is a new reef, I have deemed "The diver's obstacle course"... A large artificial reef placed from 14'-21' running due west of the Pine trees. When first placed, I didn't like this spot because it was placed right on top of prime tooth hunting space... A large number of concrete blocks that are north and south, running west... These are big blocks and are in no true running destination... Get caught in a good current, and you will have the scars on your legs like I have...

In recent times, I have grown fond of the "Artificial Reef" space... I can head out due west of the pines to 14-15' and run into the "before area" If things are right, this area is a fantastic area to show new shark tooth divers what they are looking for... Unfortunately, conditions covered the area with brown algae and this is NOT what is conducive to a good dive, .... but, an addendum is there are many spaces between algae there for all to see...

Marvel, Kbeck, Rawkstar and myself enter these N/S rocks at a point I'm not wanting to dive, but I did state we would enter at the first potential entrance.... and began our south run... At some point, we were separated, and me being one of three flags, made the surface run... 10 min on the surface waiting for my dive buddy, another 5 min. untangling the three dive flags and I pretty much realized this was a clutter.. f...

I Knew all of us were in the same area, but vis didn't allow us to see the other's bubbles... I was coming up on an hour of bottom time and wanted to get back to the beach to see what was happening around noon. My buddy was with me (Kbeck), so I let her know we were heading back in, she was good with that... Marvel and Rawkstar (both with flags) remained in the water...

Food was good... (avoided the cold chicken)... Excellent Enchilada Casserole... That WAS the entre of the day for me! Thank you VERY much. I really detest cold fried chicken...

In the past, I have brought out 2x4' boards, and saw horses, but I was informed that there were enough tables... or I would have brought them. It would have made a banquet table 2x16' long....

We made a second dive... deeper than the first dive, and entered the "divers obstacle course" deeper than the first dive... Our total tooth count was nearly 400 for that dive... No megs, but a few very nice Snaggle tooth's

What kind of person doesn't like cold fried chicken? Please don't tell me that you don't eat cold pizza either.

Brain stuck... I have your thingy that holds the dishes that you put the sterno's under.

CT - No that is not the mask. Sorry.

Roxanne and I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that attended. It was really great to catch up with some very old friends and meet some new ones. We had a great time and are already looking forward to the November event. This event keeps growing every year and is just a snapshot of why scubaboard divers are the BEST.

Special THANK YOU to Capt Jamie and his crew YOU GUYS ROCK !!!!!
To say you did a great job is a VAST understatement. I seen nothing but smiles from everyone coming and going from your boat. You helped many folks find their first ever meg.

Also a big THANK YOU to Colin & Tracy for keeping this thread updated and the event on track. Great job.

It's to bad the next big event isn't until October's Mega-Dive at Ginnie springs.

For gods sake I brought the buns and they were there by 9:55 a.m. Who eats chili dogs before 9:55 a.m.?
