Anyone wanna dive Pt. Lobos on Monday?


I am not sure about the BBQ as of yet but I may be up for a point Lobos trip on Monday...

I want to come too!! But I want to go on a night dive more than anything. I got a new light for Christmas I haven't been able to use yet. Do you think I will find someone sober enough to come with me for a night dive Saturday night?
I need to run the idea past my husband, I am certain he will not want to come, being a non-camper and a non-diver, but my son would love to come, so at least I wouldn't have to make the trip solo to meet people I have never met.
Who's in for a night dive?

i am almost sure we could hold off on the um...... party? to do a night dive, there are a lot of us that would like to, but the best advice for this would be to get the thoughts from ZKY, as he knows all of that area REAL well, and i really dont, but if he thinks it to be a good/safe thing to do there it is a great idea!!! oh and doo bring your son, all are welcome, and the FAMILY atmospher is what it is all about, friends and family both!!!!

Awesome. Almost a done deal. I will call ZKY tomorrow and see about having him hold a space for my tent. I saw that another lady is bringing her sons with her, and since my son is about the same age as her youngest it will give him someone to hang out with. I have to look into finding a wetsuit that would fit a 57 pound kid so that my son can do some snorkeling from the beach.
My son has a hockey game at 1-2pm in San Jose on Saturday, so we will most likely be up there 6-7 pm on Saturday. I know no one there, but would love to make some new friends and meet potential dive buddies. I won't be the only one who doesn't know anyone, will I?

NO NOT AT ALL!!! last year was the first time both either ishie and i ever went, and we are still in touch with almost everyone that came and zky (erick) said that he also knew no one that came and we are all friends now, i think that is real cool, that not even the host knew any of us that showed up, and i can say that most of us still talk of one of the best times of our lives!!!!

I think I read some accounts of last year's party, and it sounds like people had a good time. I love to party and love to dive even more, and have a tent that I haven't pitched in at least 5 years. My son was asking me if we could go camping this year, I own all my own gear except tanks now, sounds like a perfect weekend away.
It's a 3 hour drive, I think it would be fun to dive part of CA I haven't dove before with people who love to dive and drink as much as I do. Though not at the same time.

lol!!! come and join us, most of the folks from last year will also be there and a lot of new people, many that i have spoken to on this board i have never met, and they are coming, i also have about a three hour drive, but what the heck, jon davies (host of so-cal camp&dive) and his wife (rosie) and thier children are also coming, i met them last year and then went on thier so cal trip!!! another GREAT TIME!! he and his family are coming from malibu ca, and one or two from the sandiago area as well!!! this trip is nothing but great diving, great fun , and a feast of great food!!!!

I read something on another board about an initiation? I am NOT down with that!
Something about fish eyeball in wine and garlic sauce or urchin on cracker? Nuh-uh.
Hell, I don't even like vegetables. I spoke with hubby, he says that I can go.
Have to start finding my camping gear in the garage. Are many people staying Sunday night too? Is this place big? The tent I have is big, I am a bit concerned about coming late and not having a place to pitch the tent.

I can attest that I knew nobody when I went last year and we had a great bunch of people. I won't be able to make it this year because other diving obligations farther up the coast have me tied up but I will certainly be attending future events. Family atmosphere and fun is what its all about. Sure there will be some 21 and over fun but that won't take away from the real reason we are all there. I hope you all have fun and everything goes well.

I don't drink, so I am in for the night dive. I will most likely need a little help with gear, if we go from the shore though, as I am not supposed to actually carry gear on my back. We'll figure that out later... Also, I have a HUGE tent, so you can stay with me.
