Next time you're in Kona, I would definitely recommend doing the shore dive at Crescent/Dog Beach right outside Honokohau Harbor. You'll definitely need a float and some basic navigation instructions from whoever you rent gear/tanks from, since there is a lot of boat traffic overhead and surfacing to look around really isn't really an option. But there's a great chance to see the tiger sharks that go in and out of the harbor, and the spinner dolphins hang out there all the time too. Last week some divers even had a whale shark come through!
