Freakn spot on.Hi @Howie411
Not sure where you are located, assuming the US. As you listed the i770R, also assuming you do not need trimix/CCR support. There are several full size, AI computers available for around the same price. One of the major differences is the decompression algorithms they run, I would imagine you are taking this into consideration.
Shearwater Perdix AI, around $1285, runs Buhlmann ZH-L16C with GF
Ratio iX3M Pro Easy, around $1178, runs Buhlmann ZH-L16C with 6 GF presets
Suunto Eon Core, currently around $1040, runs Suunto Fused RGBM
Aqua Lung i770R, around $1298, runs PZ+
Scubapro G2, currently around $1199, runs Buhlmann ZH-L16 ADT
If you're in Europe, you could also consider:
Heinrichs-Weikamp OSTC 2 TR, around 1050 euros/$1208, runs Buhlmann ZH-L16C with GF
One SB poster with extensive experience with Suunto Fused RGBM and experience with Buhlmann ZH-L16C with GF is @Diving Dubai You can search for posts from him on this topic. He has been extremely patient with me and I would imagine he would respond to a personal message from you. I cannot personally comment on the two deco algorithms for the computers you listed, as I dive only DSAT and Buhlmann ZH-L16C with GF.
Best of luck in your computer purchase and good diving,
Craig

Sorry, I always assume someone willing to spend that much money for a dive computer, must have a deeper interest.I'm in the US and I currently dive with a Suunto Cobra 3. So I don't really care about the algorithm it uses. I don't even go diving that much. I just hate the interface and menu system on the Cobra 3 and I'm a big fan of technology. So one of the 2 listed dive computers peaked my interest.
My advice is get a computer that will calculate through your mistake.
If you don't have a useful contribution, consider not posting itWhile you're at it, get one that will un-bubble your blood and de-gas your spinal fluid after you bend yourself into a pretzel.
