Looking for Candidasa dive op...

Hey all,

We'll be in Candidasa at the end of April '13. I'm trying to find a dive op that caters to Resort style divers. Meaning, a shop that carries your gear to and from the boat. We're both 50 and are more than willing to tip accordingly for the service. We contacted 2 dive ops in Padang Bai and were told they cater more to backpackers, which is exactly what we don't want. Any help would be appreciated. We tried to contact dive lite in Candidasa, but the website email is bad.

I did a quick search and found this resort which probably caters to resort type divers... ; >) I have not booked this place so I can't speak to the service. I do book the Arenui in Indonesia and can ask them for recommends if you are interested.

We have been to Lotus Bungalows Resort in Candiasa and it is just what you are looking for. The most you have to do is put all of your gear in a basket on your porch the first day and then you are done with any gear handling ( unless of course you want to.) Ask for a bungalow that is right next to the water. I can't remember our room number but we were across from the pool and right on the water. It was awesome. LBR is very close to the town so you can walk there to shop or grab a beer or whatever. The food is excellent and Gangga divers was AWESOME!!! One of our top land based trips. It is run by Jan and Henri and you will like both of them. Boats are spic and span clean and the dive op is run like a well oiled machine. Check it out and have fun!!!

Thanks guys. Taking a quick look at LBR, it's a tad pricey. Other places in the area that I was looking at were around $80, LBR is $121. Is Gangga Divers attached to the resort? I'm assuming you could dive with them if you weren't staying at the resort?

Hi Sideways, we are a small dive operation, offering tailor-made dive trips, and we are based in CandiDasa. Although we do not have rooms attached to the dive centre, we can help you to book, otherwise you are welcome to choose your own accommodation in the area (free hotel pick-ups) and only book your dives with us.

I know the owners of Gangga Divers and can confirm that they are a top notch operation. I am sure it would be possible to dive with them and stay somewhere else if the price is that much of an issue

I have never seen a dive shop in Bali that asks guests to carry gear to/ from the boat including in Padangbai, so wouldnt worry about that...

Yes.. Gangga divers is right on the resort grounds. I would imagine that you could dive with them even if you are not staying there. email them directly to see if there are any deals to be had! Have fun !
