No one else has said, huh? I'm sure the newer ones are nicer in other ways and a new warranty is worth a lot too; I think the DC1000 shoots higher res video, or maybe they both do? Starting off with a 1 mp, then a 3, now a 5 - I'm just not eager to start over again with an expensive replacement. My views may be more resistant because I have my DC500 & strobe, a Canon 6mp with housing that I can't sell for enough to bother with, and a 5340s in another DC500 housing for back up. Kinda camera poor here.Just curious; What is so "outdated" about the DC500 other than being able to replace it w/a new one? I am just wondering as it is getting closer to the point of where i'll be replacing my old DC500 that "overheated":depressed:
I used mine for 2 years & the only issue that I had was the shutter lag. The battery life was not an issue after Don told us about the 1200ma battery on EBay.
Other than the higher resolution of a DC800 or DC1000, Is there any reason to upgrade?
Complete? Not with a strobe I don't guess? That makes 3 here on SB I guess for around that price, and it's a reasonable one I guess. I see where one went for $299 on ebay this month, but he started at $25 and took his chances; he would have hated it if it'd sold for $50. Another one is listed for sale but not getting bids because of the $100 starting price & Reserve; everyone hates those. A couple of others sold too cheap this month, I think. Maybe a bad month now for selling used cameras. I think I'll get tired of looking at my Canon and offer it in the spring when people are plannign vacation details. Good luck.I just posted a complete DC500 for $200 plus shipping (probably <$20) - everything in great condition - not to mention, I'm including a bunch of SD cards.
PM if interested.
Well how about that. Didn't think there were any left. Glad you kept looking. Looks like it was listed a few days into this thread. Cool. Thanks to all...The mission is complete. I got a Vivitar 5340s on ebay for $25 with shipping...Yahoo!!!!
