Hello!
Just lucked into a Scubapro / uwatec Galileo Sol. It has the trimix firmware in it. I notice there is an apnea firmware available for it, but I spent a little time on the various archive sites and couldn't find it.

1 - is this keyed to the s/n and ID number?
2 - will I lose the future ability to use the trimix capabilities if I somehow obtain and load it?

Thanks in advance!

You should ask scubapro directly, they still have some info and downloads on their site. The trick is the IR interface which is pretty universally outdated.

I've sent them an email. I have an IRda to usb device in the mail, have several in storage... somewhere. lol

Not much about the sol on the current site though.

You’re right I just looked and didn’t see any SOL specific software, the do have irda drivers for older windows OS, drivers were always the hard part.

Just to update;
I found trimix out there, and a couple of versions of the installer firmware. (I don't have the locations under my finger, but Stunni does!)

I never found the apnea firmware. With it being wintertime, I think it would be helpful for pool work.
The manufacturer has no input on this. They say they don't have the firmware, or any replacement parts (as would be expected with this dinosaur lol).

Just bringing this up in case someone new has a fresh idea.

Would it be possible to pull it from another dive computer?

Hi, I have a copy of the 'Apnea-upgrade' zip file which I downloaded from the regional Scubapro website sometime prior to 2018. I will send you a message.

Thanks to his generous contribution, I now have the apnea file. I've also been able to find multiple versions of the base firmware from 1.4 to the last.

Because the apnea patch is tied to the individual serial number and a pin, I can't get it to load onto the computer.
I did manage to lose my trimix patch trying to see how far back and forth I can go in the base firmware; I have not tried to reload it at this point.

Now I am looking at seeing if it is possible to change the values in the apnea patch so that it will work with my computer, and still be safe and reliable.

If you have or come across an older sol, luna or the other one, it is pretty easy to upgrade to the last base firmware and then add trimix, you have to invest in an iRDA cable, be able to get those drivers to work on a desk computer or laptop, then get SmartTRAK (not logTRAK), figure out how to invoke the gallileo programmer, then upgrade the dive computer.

I could write out specifically what I've learned, but I don't think there is enough interest. (why beat on an old product that the manufacturer doesn't support in the least? I don't like letting electronics beat me. (shrugs)

Hi, sorry, I have a question about Galileo Sol.
I would like to get the firmware version you are using and the trimix firmware. Is it possible? And if there is a recommended firmware (version), please recommend it.
Thank you.

If all you need is the firmware patch for trimix, this link has people in there that will share it when they have time.

For you to change the configuration of your dive computer, you will need a computer (not a phone or tablet), either logTRAK or smartTRAK software, an irDA interface cable (USB works, you don't absolutely have to have a serial cable version), the correct irDA computer interface drivers first.

Then, get them all to work together. It took me about two man-days spread out over a month to get that sussed out. It will work on a modern computer running Windows 10. I don't know about 11 yet, or any other operating system.
