Ok, so Piotr has answered some questions on the Stealth 2.0 page:

Piotr:
BLACK TMX has three modes: BT, AIR and TMX. If you use 21% O2 in TMX mode it would normally use GFs you have set. Adaptive conservatism takes control in AIR mode.

Piotr:
BLACK EANx has configured three presets of GFs. The highest is 85/30., which is quite reasonable. I feel that diving with GF High set to 95% or even 100% just to have "long NDL time" is dangerous and shouldn't be done.

But in firmware release 2.2 planned for may, we plan to give the EANx user posibility to set GFs directly, as it's done in TMX version.

And if the computer blocks, it is because:

Piotr:
...You have missed last decompression stop. BLACK EANx/TMX blocks if you leave the water while computer shows decompression stop. Unit will unblock automatically in 48h.

BLACK does NOT block when the stop is missed (even several of them), but if you leave the water while having decompression obligation it may block due to safety reasons.

Please reffer the manual (page 52): http://www.xdeep.eu/.../man.../xdeep_black_tmx_manual_en.pdf

And as a lot of customers ask, we'll probably add "unblock" feature in some of the next firmware versions... Probably in incoming firmware v2.2 it would would be added. If not, for sure in 3.0... To unlock device (now) you can just restart it and no data will be lost.

And:
Piotr:
...BLACK users would get VPM-B update for free soon...

VPM-B GFS is already implemented, but we need some time for testing.

Adaptive conservatism takes control in AIR mode.

I hope that stupidity is prominently explained in the manual. If you set the computer for something, and it shows that setting…you should be able to rely on the computer using that :censored:ing setting.

What a charlie foxtrot of a program this thing is running.

Being Switzerland based, I took the leap of faith today as well. Had them confirm via chat that they had the black bt in stock. Was promised that the order will be processed on Mon, and shipment to go out on Tue. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Update: It arrived yesterday. Packaging
slightly battered (not sure that transparent wrapper is adding any value), and battery was almost empty. Went diving with it the same day, after a quick charge while driving to the dive site.

First impressions: great display, slightly odd user interface (right and left buttons for up and down, long press to select), as my brain still insists on toggling with left and selecting with right button. And it seems baro was stuck in sea water mode which made for a 1 m variation in the lake compared to my trusty tec 2g. Hope that is resolved with the firmware update I just performed. Oh, and I agree with previous reviewers: forget about the strap, this thing runs on bungees.

What strikes me most, of course, is that I witnessed the launch disaster of this lovely device and ordered mine last week based on a previous post. Half jokingly, actually. Could not believe my eyes when it shipped, considering how many people still remain on some waiting lists. xdeep, we understand you focus on ramping up the production without getting butchered on the cost per unit. But once that is settled you better provide the community with an honest account of what went wrong here. And it better be beyond the overwhelming demand story and the self damaging musings about how you graciously decided 'against raising the price'.

I can understand that people hesitate to put their life in the hands of a newcomer to calculate their deco, and end up with a Petrel or similar. But for those 'planning their dive and diving their plan' the black bt does the job really nicely.

Manual explains that the battery is not empty - they just want you to charge it before first use. Maybe you should read it ;)

Oh my. I did read it in anticipation but seem to have missed this fine point. Now don't tell me there's a way to manually adjust salinity as well (the tmx version apparently has that).. ;)

My experience with divestock is good so far.

I had no problems ordering my Black from divestock. I ordered it 4 weeks ago, when the first info about availabiliy was in this thread. I ordered a little late, so they only hat one of the two blacks i ordered. They put me on the waiting list and gave a 10% discout. When they got the next batch they dispatched my order per express and the two Blacks arrived the next day in Germany. Got the dis**** paypback the same day.

Where in the manual is this stated?
I also finally received my Black and like Atlantic said, package was a bit battered but otherwise started up fine. Read '0' on the battery level but put it on a charger and it charged in 30 minutes or so so I'm guessing maybe it wasn't fully discharged.

To me, it seems like a lovely piece of kit - simple, easy to read. The compass looks quite nice and the bungee holes are rock solid. The fact that I can just throw it on a usb charger or connect it to my computer to charge seems to be quite convenient. Compared to a Xen at $600+ (including the rechargeable batteries and computer connection) this seems like an absolute no-brainer.

I have no plans to use it as anything but a BT for the foreseeable future so I'm not too concerned with any bugs in their nitrox or trimix implementation. Hopefully they can iron out their supply issues as this is a very nice piece of equipment for the money, hope to get it in the water soon! (dove my buddy's before purchasing my own)

Did you order it from Divestock.com?

It worries me abit that the only three members on this site talking good about divestock.com has only 2-3posts each and every post is to promote this webshop.

"When first started, the battery indicator will always indicate total discharge of the
device. This is intentionally set like this during the production process, after the
complete charge, for user’s safety."
