XDeep Black OLED Bottom Timer - just putting this out here again for all of you that are actually interested in getting this computer. Divestock seems to consistently have the computer in stock - after I bought mine from them (was happy with service) a buddy of mine decided to have a little faith and get one from them as well. Now told me a few days ago that he received it within 5 working days (to Germany) and was excited to get to use it. I was highly skeptical myself about the availability of the computer after reading this thread but my leap of faith was rewarded luckily. After this second occasion I felt the need to put it out there that Divestock seems legit and I would personally not be afraid of buying from them because even if the delivery time is going to be longer than my experiences, the price is certainly really attractive.

Being Switzerland based, I took the leap of faith today as well. Had them confirm via chat that they had the black bt in stock. Was promised that the order will be processed on Mon, and shipment to go out on Tue. Keeping my fingers crossed.

A friend test his black bt :
Recreational dive this morning with my wife
36m for 46 minutes
I dived with 3 computers :
OSTC GF 80/85
Xdeep GF 80/85 and GF for NDL 85%
PETREL mode Recreational low GF 45/95
Gaz : air only

Deco stop appeared after 8 minutes under water with Xdeep, 14 minutes for OSTC and PETREL.
Max TTS 19 minutes with Xdeep, 8 minutes with OSTC, 10 minutes with PETREL (including safeting stop)
Max deco stop about 3 minutes at 12 meters !! , 1 minutes at 9 meters, 2 minute at 6 meters and 13 minutes !! at 3 meters with Xdeep, only 6 minutes at 3 meters with OSTC, 3 minutes at 3 meters with PETREL.
Deco stop ended at 41 minutes with OSTC, 37 minutes with PETREL
Can't wait for the end with Xdeep, my wife was frozen.
I think there something wrong with Xdeep algorithm !

Screech, have you expressed your concerns to xDeep? This is something they should really know so that it can be corrected sooner rather than later.

Saw a post today on facebook that Dan's Dive Shop in Canada has them in stock.

I don't think the Petrel's relevant in the above comparison. 80/85 is going to give you few/no deep stops, thus limiting your loading on ascent in exchange for potentially more/larger bubbling, but keep you shallow until you can surface with 85% in the leading compartment. 45/95 is going to keep you deeper, longer, on ascent and if you set it for the same surfacing GF (ie., 85) as the BLACK, it'd probably keep you in the water even longer. 95 vs 85 is going to get you out quite a bit sooner.

It is bizarre that the two computers running 80/85 on the same dive were so wildly far apart, though.

Piotr czernik said on facebook that there is nothing wrong with the algo .

Screech, it looks like Piotr and your friend have figured out on the FB Stealth 2.0 page why the xdeep Black was giving different results than the other 2 computers. Piotr wrote this:

Piotr:
I have investigated the dive above with the help of ___ and the reason is simple: ___ has used AIR mode for this dive This is important information, as AIR mode is just a simplified mode for OWD recreational divers and in this mode, the conservatism is totally controlled by adaptive conservatism mechanizm (we assume that OWD/AOWD divers know nothing about GFs). So despite he set GFs to 85/80, in AIR mode GFs were controlled by adaptive conservatism mechanism.

What does it mean? ___ has done dive in AIR mode, so the GF's were set for 70/30 and because of that BLACK gave longer deco time than OSTC and PETREL.

We have simulated the dive in TMX mode with the GFs set to 85/80 and it gave exactly the same results as OSTC and PETREL.

So in our opinion there was nothing wrong with the algorithm of BLACK, but it just been configured in a different way. If the mode would be set to TMX (which use GFs set by user), the result would be exactly the same as in PETREL and OSTC.

Sorry for confusion. For us it's a lesson that we must put more attention to give more precise information in the manual. Of course the next edition of the manual would be improved.

Piotr also posted earlier:

For sure theres nothing wrong with the algorithm. It gives exactly the same results as GUE Decoplanner.

Screech's friend seems satisfied, saying:
i agree with Piotr
Adaptive conservatism adjusts GF +-10
for my dive, with default GF30/70 +-10, Xdeep Black calculated same decompression plan as Gap Planner
I didn't know (how can i do ?) that my GF (80/85) was not used by Xdeep Black in Air mode.
So my comparison was not efficient in this mode with other computers.
Thanks Piotr.

So, does that mean stay away from the air mode? Even for OW/AOW divers, it seems too conservative. Should we use it in at least nitrox mode and input it as 21% with a GF of 80/85?

Yep , it seems to be à configuration problem.
So the divers who configure the black in air mode in the trimix version can't realy change the GF (in fact it is not effective in air mode ) , so they have to stend in TRIMIX mode.
In air mode the only effective GF is 30/70.
Thank's to piotr for investigation.
