Oooh! You and Randy have teamed up? Sweet. Looking at that 18 wing. Too much to ask you to compare it to the Oxycheq I am use too? Similar fabrics and low profile?
Send me an email please so I don't change the direction of the thread and I'll be glad to give you all the details and answer questions.

Thank you

What difference does it make? The only possible change he'd make depending on what answer he gave would be the type of backplate he is going to get - and he isn't asking about that.
I was asking Sahlee, but in any event, I didn't say it made a difference. Just friendly chatting with her about diving in a friendly online environment in which we are all friends and don't get testy with each other over other people's friendly interest. Ok, Friend?

I respect your not wanting to hijack the thread. Have you announced it somewhere on the board? If not, can you?

Excellent.

Only joking - a wing is a wing.
I disagree... Some put more work in it than others, the results may not be up to the amount of work spent, and one might consider the price difference to not be worth it, but that's not the matter here imo.

eg:
- shapes vary largely (2 donuts are not always the same, the air distribution can be quite different)
- inflators are not all the same, nor is their position. eg x-deep and tecline have done some more work on the placement of those. Scubapro has a "balanced" inflator, ...
- bungee'd wings of death (OMS) vs bungee'd wings of life vs non-bungee'd wings of redemption
etc.
There might also be more subtle differences that one doesn't notice immediately. Add to that that you might get some service from one, and none from the other, ...

So yeah, there's sometimes a reason for a difference in price. Not that I could necessarily tell a large difference in all models suggested, just saying that there might be.

You are buying into the marketing too much. A wing is a bag of air, with a dump and an inflator. It's about as simple as you can get. Air migrates upwards.

I've used enough wings to realise how much you spend doesn't matter. Where it's made doesn't matter. How much it costs does matter. I've yet to find a wing that I wouldn't be happy diving with. People can buy what they want, but I'll not subscribe to the notion that one bag to hold air is better than another.

The top one would annoy me slightly with the inflator hose length. But in terms of diving them I'd have no problems.

One is a horseshoe so would react in a slightly different way. However I thought we were talking about donuts? I have no issue with horseshoe wings and even own one. All would be good.

Imagining the first one would be a donut wing, they're still largely different.
Therefore
