I can't stand the things... I hate anything near my throat. I don't even like to wear turtleneck shirts. I prefer the doo-rag (or dee-rag) head warmers.

This is what I tend to be reminded of:

I have another dive buddy that always wore a full hood and didn't like the tightness around his face and chin

Thus my problem with full hoods: if the fit is not right and there is significant wetsuit compression, the dreaded carotid-sinus reflex may not be far off.

To prevent tightness adjust the beanie with your mouth open or regulator in place.

Considering my avatar, it is pretty obvious that i'm on the winning side of this debate.

These ladies will never have to worry about the dreaded cartiod sinus reflex:

Fish_Whisperer:
Beanies are silly looking. They look like they are wearing Speedos on their heads. LMAO
 And I hate it when I get those two confused. :silly:

Redhatmama: How'd you do that with the picture?

Use the img tag (the next to the last icon in the lower bar) in the advanced response. You need a url to insert it inside the message.

I can't believe you think a beanie looks funny, have you looked at yourself in a hood.
