You can also by a fin keeper

Hey big guy those things are tiny we would never get them on, and are for full foot fins no boots

I struggled to get them on as a kid

Jet fins are heavy (but desired in cold water drysuit diving), fin selection should be based on type of diving, warm or cold, cave or open, leg strength, current or not.

Mares Quatro or SP Go Sports are a good all around fins. There are others, but these seem to be the most common.

@RXTdiver
They have their purpose in life... I have a few pair and they haven't left the shelf in a decade. I don't like having the pocket only on half of my foot. I don't like the weight. I don't like how they flutter kick. They are great for frog kick and back fining. They are great for small environments where water movement could cause issue (cave/penetration).

I prefer Mares Quattro and have used one pair for 25 years now. New straps about 3 years ago. I have one set for dry suit and one for wet diving (different size foot pocket for the boots). They kick well and are a great all around fin for me. I can frog kick effectively. Back fining isn't at effective but works well enough. I can kick against current and move my doubles with clipped off dpv with ease. YMMV

I know we're on a new topic, but count me as someone who thinks that little bumpy thing to keep your fin strap secure is a good feature. I've mentioned kelp catching a fin strap. Also note that spring straps can lose some spring and get looser (that plus the kelp got me once). Not sure about bungees, if they lose spring, so far so good for me.

I dont see any drawbacks to the bumpy thing. So Im glad it exists.

fair enough...kelp and seals. Neither are things I have diving experience with....
Just goes to prove, almost nothing is ever fully fixed/certain for all situations
So....it's NOT a solution in search of a problem.... good to know!

Yeah so wear a weight belt, with a drysuit, gets your legs down, slows air migration.

Hey been keel hauled so those that wish can use heavy fins, to make pushing the water even more difficult

or something better some ankle weights to make everything harder still some more

Hey here's the guy, you know, the horizontal articulated dummy guy, got him all dressed up in all that stuff

Look at what all that heavy stuff and articulation in class did to the guy, he's finished

Sort of reminds me of The Juice in Capricorn One!
